Super User MCS Posted January 7, 2013 Super User Posted January 7, 2013 Hey deaknh, witnessing a double murder or another teams practice..,,tomatoe tomato. We are all skewed by our respective teams. We overlook their flaws and love them unconditionally. Pats and Saints are ok with me. They have some great teams and won regatdless of off the field indesgressions...,,,PS I think Pollard woulda earned himself a few $$ from Vilma for that hiton Wayne. It was beautiful! Anyway I digress what I am saying is it IS about what these guys and coaches do on the field NOT off. They aren't roll models to me or my kids. Quote
The one that got away Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Let's not go down the "spygate" road. There have been many past players, coaches and GM's who have come out and said that this was part of every tams gameplanning, for years. It just so happened that Mangini decided to act like a spoiled 12 year old and ratted the Pats out. If you truly believe that spygate was the reason the pats were winning, how did they run off 18 straight victories right after the "investigation", and subsequently made the playoffs every season, and 2 super bowls? I realize being a Pats fan I am skewed, but this is laughable. people say, but they havent won a super bowl since, well, how easy is it to win a super bowl? They made it twice, and lost because of basically 3 plays, a miracle catch by a helmet, a perfect throw by Manning down the sideline, and the pats best receiver dropping a pass he catches 100 times a season, none of these plays has anything to do with filming anything. As far as the Saints go, another joke. NFL tams have been sending guys out to hurt the opposition since the league started, and some candyass now says it's not the right thing to do, crap if you ask me. Whomever decided this should be forced to watch the longest yard and slapshot for an entire weekend.  Maybe if Belichik wasn't such an arrogant you know what, they wouldn't have received as tough a penalty.  Bottom line: Pre-spygate 3-0 in SuperBowls under Belichik Post-spygate 0-2 2 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Sorry but taping someone's walk through on the Super Bowl and building a film of sidleine signals and the corresponding plays are crappy no matter what. And he is a confirmed cheater end of story. I have no respect for that and it wouldn't matter what team it was. Once belichek leaves I won't hold it against the "cheatriots" any more. 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 For those of you with a short term memory and only remember this years Ravens vs Broncos game here is a reminder of what is to come......Hence why Ray came in at Fullback for the last play...helluva block  http://youtu.be/kLZN0CabW6s Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 8, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Nothin' but a cheap shot. The defender was not "in play". 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Nothin' but a cheap shot. The defender was not "in play".  lol not what the announcers thought, or the nfl, henever got fined. The guy could of run the ball carrier down. Clean play good block...... Broncos are going down like a ton of bricks this weekend!.....I hope, usually when I talk trash like this it backfires. lol Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 I like Ray Lewis and i think he is one of the top linebackers to ever play the position but that was a cheap shot. Much like the cheap shot master, Hines Ward. Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Dude, so how about the news on RG3 that is pretty bad if it is indeed the second tear to the ACL ? Do you all agree or disagree with playing him down the stretch and in the game? My opinion is RG3 is paid to lead his team and win a championship. This might have been their year and to save him for another season is missing the point of making the playoffs and winning now. RG3 wanted to play and it is what it is, a casualty of the sport. Hope he isn't hurt too bad though, love how he plays on the field.  Another key injury, Clemons done for a year with an ACL tear. Does this affect the outcome Sunday? My take is no, Seattle still wins. Their corners and safeties are the key. They will shut Jones and white down. Ryan may have to dust some rust off and Sherman may make him pay.   1 Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Burns had a great chance to get to McAllister, most likly the only player to have had a shot at Mcallister, I don't see it as a cheap shot at all. Quote

I am not so mad at the Skins for loosing the game, I am mad at why they did what they did, RG3 is the team captain and leader of that offense, period !!! he knew what he needed to do and did not do it.  The coaches knew it, they had to have known it, but yet RG3 had he taken himself out upon his injury during the first quarter, it would have allowed the Skins to go into half time and make adjustments for the second half, I truly believe Cousins has got enough tallent that the game would have been well within their reach.  Needless to say RG3 had to know he was no longer a threat to Seattle, Seattle made the right adjustments in the 2nd quarter and brought the heat and deserved the win.  Whats done is done, there is no changing it now, but it should have never happend that way.  As for Clemons, it's a blow for sure but they have a good deal of depth and tallented depth too, I think they still win as well, who is stepping in? have they said yet? Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 No I didn't see who would replace him(clemons) Â I guess it is a tough spot, on one hand you have a rookie that is looked to lead, he wants to lead his team. But on the other hand you as a coach have to decide tell the kid sit down or fluff his confidence for the future and let him do what he thinks. Hopefully RG3 isn't hurt and can use this as a lesson of when to push an issue and when not. Something that will come with maturity, letting the backup take the wheel in the future even though it is tough. Cousins sure did look good in the couple games he played. I think your right, it would have been better if Cousins would have played the 2nd half from the get go. 1 Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 You know, I can see his point (RG3) that is, I know he felt as if he would have let the team down and all of the fans, but that can not be a factor in decisions like this.  We know how tough he his, he played in a ton of pain, we all saw it for goodness sake, we as fans can sit here and armchair a decision beyond reason and do it until the end of time, shucks, just look at the emaculate reception, it's still being talked about, crap that game was over 30 years ago.  It was none the less a decision, a simple decision that brought all of this on, I remember sitting in my chair watching the game when my daughter called me from her boyfriends parents house, during the second quarter, she was calling to check and see if I was ok, anyone who knows me can't watch a Skins game with me, I am so very pasionate when it come to the Skins, winning or loosing, really high or really low, I am there, anyway, she knows how I am, I was through the freaking roof and could not believe what I was seeing, and it just continued to happen, time and time again, because I am an armchair guy, I am just a voice, no one was in any of their shoes and no one but them truly knew or did not know, whatever the case may be, but I bet I can say this, HAD RG3 came to Mike and said I can't do it, we need to make a change, I bet the change would have been made, I don't blame anyone, I can't,  they tried their best, and I am sure they all thought they were doing the right things for what ever reason, but for the decision that was made either by RG3 or coach Mike or both, it was stupid period !!!!  Now there is a chance he may not play next year as well, at least that is what I am hearing, I hope he visits Petersons surgeon !!!! 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 8, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Just ridiculous!  Everyone watching this game at home could see that RG3 was hurt. So, we're suppose to believe that the doctor on the sideline, coaches on the field and in the booth couldn't tell? What game were they watching? 1 Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 I hear so many different stories coming out of this I do not know who to beleive as to what, it's crazy !!! Â There is everything from he will never play again, to Coach Mike being released from the Skins. Â It's FREAKIN NUTTS AROUND HERE !!! Â some say he never saw a doctor to begin with last week and took it upon himself to tell Mike he was cleared to play, so who knows what was said during the game either, but your right we all saw it, we all knew it, so what happened? Â IM SO CONFUSED !!!! LOL !!! 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 I saw the article abotu the initial injury and it seems like since RG avoided both the coach and the doctor they both thought the other cleared him to go in which he did, on his own.... Â I like the fire in RG but he also needs to get a little more brain power too. 1 Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 I saw that too.  I don't know how much truth there is to anything right now but who knows, shucks, we may never know.  Like your last sentence, I love his passion for the game and the team, but cummon man, DUDE YOU ARE OUR FUTURE !!!    Hell,  maybe he was scared of Cousins for all I know, ever thought of that? 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 So either he was scared of cousins taking his job or scared of cousins blowing the game......lol both seem feasible to me 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 But the scary thing about this injury it is to the same knee he blew out in 2009. He might have blow in out again.....I know players have blow both knees out at points in their career but has one blown the same knee out twice and been any good? Kinda like tommy john surgery for a pitcher, one shot and if you blow it again your pretty much done, is that the senerio? Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Whatever it is, I blame shannahan for it. As the head coach you are responsible for all of the players on your team. Griffin should not have played period. I hate that they risked that young mans future. He is the future of that franchise and Coach Shannahan should have the pulse of his players health. You can't expect players to be truthful about their physical condition. They are competitive it's what they do. That being said, I think the seatle Seahawks were going to win regardless. They are too good of a defense. Looking forward to see how bad the Falcons are gonna choke it up this weekend against seatle. Since my team didn't make the playoffs I'm pulling for Baltimore. 2 Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 I blame no one, we don't know what was going on for sure, maybe he heard from the doc and the doc told him he was good to go, we don't know what the truth is, but I do agree with part of your statement Teal, he should have made the decision to sit him down.  As for a loss, we will never know, we could argue that till the cows come home and we will still never know, one thing is for sure, we play again next year and I cant wait for the rematch.  What team of yours did not make the playoffs? 1 Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Usually after an ACL injury/repair it becomes your stronger knee. I think nitro hit it right in that we will never know what was said etc....so it is hard to make a call I wish RG the best and keep in mind Petersen has a history of fast recovery that is unseen even among elite athletes.
