Little of both. The broncos should have a pretty easy time taking the division I'd think, I know my Chiefs won't be contesting them :laugh5: I'm just hoping to finish out our impending 1-15 season and maybe we'll draft a good QB who we can let rot on the bench until someone else steals him away and actually grooms him into a starter.

Shucks I am just hoping for a better than 500 season from my Redskins this year, impressive at times and other times not so much, all in all I am pretty happy looking at our future.

As for the superbowl, Atlanta is looking good along with the 49'ers, Giant's who knows, Broncos will need a little more fine tuning under Manning to make the big show but looking good right now, especially after last night, Brady and the Pats will hang in there I think but will fall short, Saints, they will not make the show this year either.

I think this is going to be one of those years where it will be someone unexpected, only a few teams are really showing up right now, I think one of the teams in my opinion will make the show would almost certainly be the 49'ers the way they are playing right now.

Rivers gave Denver the game but the broncs still have a good defense so far. Don't count out the texans. And what wins championships folks? Defense! So along with Denver, Seattle and the Vikes can make a run in the playoffs and shock a few.

The play of the defense from Seattle against the Pats was impressive. I liked the story about their corner Sherman and safety on yahoo sports. Good stuff.

Sad to see my man Ray Lewis done for the year, it is up to Ed now. Ravens shot at the Superbowl is likely done. Hate to see the Ravens win without Ray but would be nice for Reed to get his day.

Don't discount the Ravens just yet. They might have some young talent that will take up the slack on defense. The wildcard really is their offense. Flacco is flaky, and so their defense is hot/cold.

Atlanta looks good, but they always seem to find ways to lose in the playoffs.

Giants have a lot of offensive weapons. They have a stacked deck. They have a shot of making it all the way.

Pats might make it. They have a shot of winning their division, and they're a seasoned team that knows what it takes to make it to the big show.

49'rs looked good until this weekend. They got stomped on at their home turf. That smells like inconsistency to me.

Seahawks have a shot at winning their division, or making it in as a wildcard. But making it all the way to the big show? Probably not.

Broncos? Nope. Monday Night just showed they could beat a very poorly coached SD team (Turner is lucky to still have a job). That said, the AFC West is very weak. Denver might make the playoffs simply because they'll lose the least.

It's hard to say, with the way parity is in the NFL is now. It's really going to come down to who remains healthy and who peaks towards the end of the season.

Ok, so who is going to be the shocker this year, last year it was the Lions that suprised everybody for quite some time, this year it seems to be anyone's guess with the pairity as Glenn said.

For a surprise/shocker team, I am going to go way out on a limb here and cast my vote for my Redskins to make the playoff's....wild card chance? ok, ok, maybe not, but still if they continue to play like they did against the Vike's, who knows.

However, I will say Green Bay, there is a lot of depth on that team, almost too much, even though they have hit and miss this year and seem to be sputtering along, I think they will collect themselves and be there at the end of the year, they took a tough defence and just shredded it Sunday night.

The New York football Giants and New England Patriots are the two best teams in the NFL.

Both teams will make the post season. And when they do...good luck with that :)

We got back from vacation late Monday and I was sick. I turned the game off at the half. Woke up the next morning and missed some serious ball.

Well, how did everyone's predictions fare so far?  Me?  Looks like I got most of my predictions right, but I was wrong about the Broncos and Giants.

Glad to see your Seahawks in the playoffs, congrats!

The two biggest surprises this year have been the amazing

Redskins and disappointing Giants.

I got my prediction right as the Redskins are in the playoffs !!!!!!!!!

Looks like all of my predictions so far are correct, the biggest surprise to me has been the Seahawks, they are looking pretty good,  Congats on a great season for them, I look forward to Sundays game between my Skins and Seattle.

Being from and living in Oklahoma I get some odd looks while wearing my Skins gear!  I'm stoked that they picked up RG3.  The Skins are back baby and they will beat Seattle by 6 points.  It will be Denver and Green Bay I believe when it comes down to it though.

I was pumped when they picked him up as well !! We owe a huge amount of credit to Cousins too, he won two of those games for us and did quite well, we are still spotty in some areas but the game will be a good one I feel.

I had a house full of Cowboy fans watching the game with me, Dallas fans, in Va. no different being a Skins fan in Oklahoma, I have been a Skins fan all my life, I have no problems showing my support everywhere I go, I have been to NY wearing my Skins outfits and PA, Glad to hear you are showing some love !!!

Denver I agree with Green Bay not feelin it, I think Green Bay will fall short of the prize.

LMAO !!!

Oh you are a funny one !!!

For that to happen the God's would have to show themselves, Care to make a prediction?

I think Denver just might get there as long as they can keep Manning in the upright position, they have put together some pretty good games, and home field throughout the playoffs,  I don't see Minn going, too much strength in only one person with far to many defences built to stop the run beyond the packers, I don't see Green Bay going either, Atlanta,??? they are pretty tough, The Pats??  they have enough experience and know how to get there, but I feel they will fall short too, Ravens, no, just that simple, Colts are getting warmed up but Andrew shows good poise, however he has no play off experience, it depends on who they face I think but could be a suprise team this stretch, the Rams, I feel are too one dementional as well but still pretty tough to call, they have beaten some pretty good teams down the stretch here,  49ers, they still have a pretty good shot, lots of speed, Seahawks, what a great season they are having, Texans, no, again just that simple, just not disiplined enough IMO, Redskins even though I want them to win and will be forever a fan, just not strong enough...yet, but we have some pretty good depth and a great running game to open up for RG3, plus they have won some tough games while on the road,  honestly I don't really know who to pick right now, but I like Denvers chances the most at this point..

I will however go out on a limb again and say the Redskins can pull it off IF the coaching staff stays away from those stupid trick plays and they keep giving the different looks they have been the past few weeks, so they are going to be my shocker team to make the party.

GOOOO SKINS !!!! WWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOO !!!

Predictions for this weekend

Texans vs. Bengals  I pick the Bengals in an upset on the road, Bengals defence is too fast, to keep Matt Schaub off the ground I think the Texans O line has their work cut out for them, and Texans pass defence is too leaky.

Green Bay and the Vikes  I pick Green Bay, tough to beat at Lambo for sure

Colts vs. Ravens  Colts should be able to handle the Ravens

Redskins vs. Seahawks This is really tough to say, this will be a good game, two rookie QB's this will be a close game for sure and one to watch, I am going with the Redskins at home.

Awh common, the Colts can't hang with the Ravens.

I just wanna see the show down of Pats vs. Broncos should be a better game than the superbowl itself. But the Texans might mess that one up, and the Ravens did beat the pats, don't think they will make it past the second round though.

The NFC sucks, they will lose in the superbowl so I don't really care who wins. It would be nice to see RG3 win one or two in the playoffs.

What makes you think they can't hang?

This is the 3rd time these 2 will meet in the post season, they have already beaten the Ravens two times, once at home once on the road, Who was Pagano working for last year and the three previous years before that, I will give you a hint,  last year he was Baltimores defensive coordinator, one of the top ranked defenses out there and he helped build it, I would think he may know a thing or two of how to take it apart.

Please Chuck inherited that defense. He did coach them, but as far as building it no. He was secondary coach and the years he was their the secondary was our WORST part of the defense. From 2005 to 2008 Baltimore didn't allow more than 4800 total yds, have 2 seasons near 4100, since 2008 they have had 2 or 3 years over 5000 yds allowed and none under 4500. Baltimores problem this years besides injuries is that the stars are old and the payroll caught up with them. What made Baltimore defense was Rex, Ray and Ed. Harbaugh and Chuck got handed a great defense and have kept it serviceable, while improving the offense to average.

As far as the Colts go, they are no better than the bengals or minnesota if that. they played a cupcake schedules, jags 2 times(and lost one), buffalo, tenn., KC and gimme from Texas. teams underestimated them and they got a couple nice wins. Their defense is comprabale to the Ravens. But their offense is shakey, Ok Luck can be impressive but turns the ball over, it is his first playoff start he might have nerves, plus the key is keep the pressure on him, his 4 quarter comebacks = no rush + soft dime coverage. Colts have no RB. You can say Denver has no RB but destroyed the ravens but look at that game the ravens, Gailey and Flacco killed that game for us. 1-12 on 3rd down pitiful.....That said the Ravens are a far better team on paper, now that we got a new O coordinator maybe we can achieve this high power offense that has been talked about since Joe got drafted LOL

Makes good sense for sure, but I only mentioned he helped build it, so that means he was there for the process, yes I agree it was handed down to him but he should still understand it pretty darn well.

New O coordinator should definatly improve the Ravens NO DOUBT !! lol !! but first game out and you really think it's gonna be successful? maybe? as long as they don't try everything all at once and make wholesale changes right from the get go, this team is and can be Superbowl contenders for sure let there be no mistake about how I feel about that, but a change like they have going on during this period of time may be to little too late, I think they should have had a couple more games under their belt before the playoff's, they needed this mid season, not now, and that's one big reason why I think the Colts will pull/can pull it off.

I think if they jell right away then yes they will sit the Colts down, but I just can't see it working in time, this could be another Jimmy Johnson story on the other hand, he was winning almost right out of the gate, but I guess we will find out this weekend.

That is what I wonder, how much of the schemes did they keep from Rex? Or did Mattison and Pagano bring their own take on it. I cannot imagine that it would be 100% the way it was. Rex is supposed to be renouwn for the complexity of the schemes(tell that to the Jets). But he(Pagano) did coach Webb and make him into a star.

But your right, the Cam firing was waaaaay too late. Then to sit and basically take a knee on the loss to the bungals last week doesn't do the O any good. If Rice can break a few early and they keep the running in the mix the entire game the ravens can make it work. To me it seems their passing plays are very limited and when forced to play catch up or passing situation are very predictable or limited on what they can do. Lets hope that is no longer the case with Caldwell.

And now with the Ravens knowing this is Ray's last ride they maybe motivated enough!

I know how much you like your Ravens, most likely as much as I love my Skins, I am not doubting they can put it all together, I hope they can, but with the way things have gone these past few games it leaves a lot of open questions, too many IMO not to give the Colts a good chance, Caldwell was and is the right choice, at least I feel it is.

As for Ray's last ride, we all have a time to go, I will miss seeing him on the field, he is without a doubt a hall of fame player, and one reason the Ravens are who they are today, I would hope he would come back however and coach your linebackers to some extent, his ability to read plays is amazing, and I hope his last ride is enough to get them motivated for sure.

Good luck this weekend !!!

i cant wait for this weekends Redskins-Seahawks game. Im a huge Redskins fan, and what better way to take the NFC East in a Win or go home scenario vs the Cowboys. Earlier in the preseason i think, i gave some cowboys fans here the harsh realities of their team(romo is a choker, demarco murray is overrated and injury prone, garretts poor game day coaching, etc) and they couldnt handle it. well, i am about to do the same for Seahawks.

My view of the Seahawks, while theyre a good team, isnt as favorable as the medias view of them. The zone read/option they run isnt as near as good or advanced as the version the Redskins run out of pistol. Seahawks run theirs out of shotgun and It can be stopped simply by playing a CB off the hip of the DE. Russell Wilson(im a fan from his NC State/Wisconsin days) is a solid QB, he will be good for years to come i think, but he is a much better QB outside of the pocket than in it. Inside the pocket he tends to sail balls when he doesnt have a clear cut throwing lane(much like drew brees). Its because of him being short, while it wont define his career, it can affect him at times. The Seattle run game is good, the Redskins must be sound tacklers this week and play disciplined run fits.

As for Seattles defense, its not all the rankings(overall, pass, run) say it is. Of Shermans 8 INTs, only 1 has come vs a top QB(Brady), the rest vs scrub QBs like lindley and skelton. Defensive rankings are based on yardage, which doesnt always tell the full story. The skins and hawks are near each either in categories like Sacks and Turnovers. Seattle does do a good job in scoring defense giving up an average of like 15 points per game, and no more than 28 in a game, but the skins have scored 28+ in 9 of 16 games. Also, can seattle stop the #1 rushing attack in the league? i dont think so, their run defense hasnt been that great lately, and no team knows whether to go after alfred morris or RG3, skins playfakes are excellent and often i dont even know who has the ball initially. Skins thrive in playaction(best in the league), seahawks are one of the worst playaction defenses in the league. everyone wants to talk about the seahawks speed on defense, but that plays right into the redskins hands. particularly fast defenses overpursuit the skins misdirection more than other teams, putting the defense more out of position while the play is actually going the other way. seahawks love to play a single high safety, often 30 yards off the line of scrimmage, they been doing it all year. well, skins been eating that formation all year, so good luck with that, because there will be holes everywhere between the LBs and secondary. and whats even funnier is when the skins let one of your passrushing ends(clemons, irvins) go unblocked and theyre totally confused as to what to do on the play because no one has been blocking them half the day yet theyre a nonfactor mostly. ask demarcus ware and jason pierre-paul about that...

anyways i will stop here, and for those wondering, i could pick out a bunch of flaws from my team too, but choose not to lol. in all honesty, i think this will end up being a close low scoring game, like a 16-10, 17-13, or 14-10 type score
