With the temperature getting very low tonight will this drastically affect fishing and if so what adjustments would you suggest? I have been doing very well on topwater and will start topwater no matter what... Quote

I'll probably start out with a frog, but depending on how that goes I'll end up fishing as deep as I can get with some jigs, craws, or flukes. I have been having good luck lately with the 5" Disco Violet Zoom Super Flukes, just fishing them slow and fairly deep. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted October 13, 2012 Super User Posted October 13, 2012 Some great posts here. My guess is that the bite will be slow given the fact that we just had a front roll thru. By Monday the bite should pick up. Get out those slow, crawling baits and look for whatever vegetation is left that is adjacent to deeper water and see if you can't get down in a channel. I seriously doubt they will be in shallow, but hey, it'll be worth a try maybe later in the day. Good luck guys! Quote
Sdaversa Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Well the jig worked wonders. I was only fishing in maybe 5-6' of water but I ended up catching 4 bass all around 2-1/2 lbs. Not big ones, but hey, they're fish. Used a 1/4 oz Black/Blue Strike King jig with a Green Pumpkin Sapphire Rage Craw as the trailer. Hope you're having some luck! Quote

NEjitterbugger Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 I caught my PB this year at 39" 27 lbs... We were trolling live mackeral on my dad's friend's boat. My dad's PB is 47.5" 38 lbs... When we surf cast we enjoy using crystal minnows by Yo-Zuri... Apparently some 40lbs lunkers were caught in maine recently so we will probably drive along the beach take some casts...then drive take some casts... and keep doing that until we are either freezing, out-fished, or just tired of catching them (WHICH WILL NEVER HAPPEN, YOU CAN NEVER CATCH TO MANY STRIPERS!) lol...
