airborne_angler Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Just picked up a few "rigged" models of this bait at a bargain bin. Anyone had luck with these,or is that why its in the bargain bin? Please enlighten me on the pros and cons of this bait Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I like 'em a lot. They have a great swimming action and I've caught some very nice fish with them. I've never tried the pre-rigged ones, but I like to fish them weightless or on a swimbait hook. They are also KILLER on a chatterbait head with no skirt. Just slow roll it and hold on! Quote
airborne_angler Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 May just have to try them on a Chatterbait type bait I have. The skirt came apart and I just threw it in my "extras" box. May have to go dig it back out. Anyone fish these weightless like a Senko or a Fluke and had luck? Quote
BC Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Do you mean the magic shad or the live magic shad? Haven't used them, but was considering picking up some of the magic shad or panic minnows. BC Quote
CRFisher Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 On a weighted swim bait hook it was one of the most realistic looking baits I've seen coming through the water. I only tried it out on two occassions late in the fall, both were fairly successful. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I love fishing like a senko but you get more size then numbers Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 25, 2010 Super User Posted February 25, 2010 Hmm... Try it on a Sworming Hornet. Cast, settle to the bottom. Lift and let sink on slack line...repeat. When fish are inactive, this is my #1 technique. http://www.sworminghornetlures.com/ 8-) Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted February 25, 2010 Super User Posted February 25, 2010 I fish them on a weightles EWG hook just like a super fluke. Work great. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 i love this bait...incredible action....weightless or small weighted hook....can swim it or jerk it gotta try it on a head shaker/swormin hornet.. Quote
BucketBuster Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Completely agree with Capt. Obvious and CRFisher. I recommend buying the Lake Fork Magic Shad swimbait hooks to go with them. I had a much better hook up ratio using those hooks compared to other high quality swimbait hooks. Also, I have had the most success using it like a jerkbait on summer mornings when the sun is coming up. Quote
