nralover Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Who makes an affordable tackle bag, with room to hold a respectable amount of stuff? I have seen some bags for around 100.00, and I just don't want to spend that kind of cash.... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 23, 2010 Super User Posted February 23, 2010 BassPro and Cabelas have a bunch of reasonably priced bags. Quote

I.rar Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 lol, probably not what you had in mind , but i use either a 3 compartment dickies backpack ($7) or a 10" craftsman tool bag ($10 for the 10" and 12" combo) with plano boxes. i keep plastics in separate plastic bags rather than more plano boxes. thrawn67 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 i do the same as sqhertz but with a old L.L. bean bag, works great for shore fishing if you carry more then one rod and other things. Quote

Super User fishfordollars Posted February 23, 2010 Super User Posted February 23, 2010 Those BPs Yellow waterproof bags work for me. The medium size will hold 4-6 Plano boxes depending on the size you use. $21.58 each Quote

BEST BAG OUT THERE! Double strap (backpack) comes in handy when you're beating the banks!! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 Cabela's Advanced Angler series if you're interested in a quality product. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 Think outside the box. Years ago, when I was a meat fishing bush hippie on a modest income, I went into the goodwill store one day. I came across a monster sized womens purse, made out of some kind of nylon/canvas stuff. It was extremely sturdy. You could put a couple of bricks in it and knock down muggers with it. It would hold 5 or 6 3600 boxes plus an amazing amount of loose stuff in its various zippered pockets. I was a bank fisherman at the time, and it would hold more than I felt like carrying. I think I paid a dollar for it. When I moved out of town I traded it to a fellow meat fishing bush hippie for a shallow running shad rap. This is getting away from the point, which is to go to the goodwill store and see what they've got. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted February 24, 2010 Super User Posted February 24, 2010 I'm a believer in the thrift store for some stuff. The photo below shows my "bank walking" rig - a big fanny pack that cost a whopping $1 at the thrift store. However, for my main tackle bag, I think I'd still prefer a purpose-built bag with lots of compartments sized to fit the typical fishin' gear... I've been shopping for a new bag myself and looked at the Cabela's bags mentioned by burleytog. The BPS Stalker bag looks pretty good too. I'm sorta waiting for the bait monkey to take a break and leave me alone for a while so I can assess how much tackle I have and get get a bag big enough to haul it. I'll do that assessment right after I place a TW order later today ;D Quote
Bassin for Walleye Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I just found an old duffle bad downstairs that I think can hold 7 or 8 plano tackle bags. Quote
bear7625 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 BPS, Cabelas, and Gander Mountain all have good tackle bags. The one I got is from GM and is made by Flambeu. It holds 6 large boxes in the main compartment and 3 medium boxes on the sides. It also has a couple extra compartments for small stuff. I really like it but it's filling up fast. My son got his at Cabelas. It holds 8 large boxes in the main compartment. I guess the size doesn't matter, cuz we're gonna fill em up anyway. I paid $59 for mine on sale. Quote
