Welcome. How's the fishing in your area? I see your favorite place to fish is a river. I suck in moving water. :(

Are you a spinning, baitcasting or fly fisherman? Or all three?

Thanks all! Fishing in the river itself can be a little challenging with the moving water. The Pasquotank river is part of the Intercoastal that feeds into the Albemarle sound. So the river itself is tidal. Sometimes it works to your advantage. You can fish one side going with the tide with very little trolling effort and when the tidal direction changes fish right back the other way. Lots of fishing opportunities from LM to strippers, Redfish, Grindel and everything in between. There are also a lot of smaller creeks and tributaries that provide some great fishing.

I am a novice (at best) bass fisher but I mostly use baitcasters and a topwater lures in the morning and switch to a spinner or plastic later in the day. I have been having some great luck lately with the Smithwick Devils Horse (wood Series) Double-prop (AF132) on Wright Mcgill rods and Skeet Reese Victory baitcasters. I always have a couple of light spinning rod/reels in the boat for drop shotting or fishing for other species (lot of white perch). If you are ever down this way give me a shout and we can go out and get a line wet.
