5 Years

I was just thinking the other day, I have been a member on here for coming up on 5 years, and I wanted to give a couple thoughts.

first, has it really been that long? second the vast amount of knowledge on here makes pretty much any and all magazines irrelavent, I picked up an issue of bassin' the other day and was like man I remember a thread on BR from a while ago that was way better than this. I have also seen a lot of changes on the forum. I have to say if you were'nt around for muddy's (you mook) awesome music threads and hillarious grumpy old man-isms you are the one who is missing out. third I just wanted to say that this has been the most level headed best moderated forum I get on, I have seen VERY little scuffles or arguing in the time I've been here, and the ones that did exist were basicly a reslut of reading a post wrong and were quickly resolved. Another thing I notice is how few bots i have seen. I'm not shure if I've ever seen one.

overall, I have to say, my hat is off to Glenn for making such a great site that actually has a sense of community to it.

well it's getting late and I don't remember half the stuff I was going to say, so..

Good post man. I have to say I totally agree about the sense of community. Everyones really helpful and its nice to be able to get several different oppinions on any given subject without a lot of bickering. Congrats on your 5 years and thank you to the BR staff!

Hey man, 5 years for me as well. I remember your handle, and I used to post on here a lot back in the day, but not so much anymore. I do remember muddy. Haven't thought of him in a while, and I hope that mook is doin well.

Glenn has definitely done an amazing job with this site, not only providing a place where people with a common interest can e-chat, but also providing a place that has so much freaking information on fishing it's incredible. All of the profit he enjoys is definitely very, very well-deserved. He's providing tremendous, lasting value with this site.

I honestly only come into the Everything Else forum, and none of the other ones, very occasionally. For some reason, my interest in bass fishing has waned in the last year or two. Ebbs and flows I guess.

Signed up with my first account December 28th 2007, would have been 14(15?). So coming up on 5 years. Doesn't feel like 5 lol. But yeah Glenn's done an excellent job. Was telling him on the road trip that if I wouldn't be where I am in my passion of fishing without BR. Most of everything I know about fishing has come from the posts, videos, and articles on this site.

Thanks guys, I truly appreciate it. But the mods and I can't take all the credit. I mean, really, we're just the hosts and members just like you. You folks are what makes this place so great. It's YOUR participation that makes these forums so great. A fantastic stadium is boring without the players and fans.
