How far will you drive on a regular basis to get to good fishing. I have no water in the immediate vicinity. It kills me. But I'm two hours from Guntersville, Pickwick, Kentucky Lake, Wheeler, Wilson, Chick, etc. It got me to thinking..... How far do you guys drive to get to you water? Me it's an hour to two hours in any direction. Two hours is about my max.

Its an hour to Clark's Hill, Murray and about 2 to Santee. There are a couple ponds and stuff closer that I fish more just because they are close. Planning a trip to Erie next fall, that's gonna be more like 10

I would travel a good 3 hrs to fish 4 or 5 times a year. On a weekly basis I drive I travel about an hour. I have a decent lake about 15 minutes from the house but the drought has about rendered that lake useless so Ive had to drive this fall.

I would make the trip to Fork which is a decent 2 hour drive w/o traffic IF I could get my father in law to make it every weekend. Average drive to surrounding lakes is around 15-45 minutes. I would happily drive up to 3 hours if the fishing is dynamite. If there is fish, I will go!

depends on how good the fishing is. id be willing to drive an hour and a half for a 25+ fish day. if not, i got plenty of places where i can catch 10-15 bass in 4-5 hours almost everytime that are within 45 minutes of me

It's over an hour drive to fish anything decent around here, if that gives you any idea :)

I'm only a half an hour from my home water, but I would drive up to two hours each way for a good day on another body of water; if I want to make a long weekend of it I'll go up to four hours each way.

I'm within 30 minutes of several local lakes and ponds. It's between 1-1 1/2 hours to the bigger lakes in my section of the state. With the price of gas I stay local most of the time.

With my boat, not far. Local lake is 10 mins away. Another good lake is 30, another decent one is 45. Erie is an hour, but I have always gone with someone else who has a bigger safer big water boat.

I have 4 lakes within 5 minutes of me. They may not be great, but I'd rather be fishing than driving when I can go out.

My home lake is 45 minutes but fish tournaments and the furthest one for that is bout three hours. I do take random trips visting other lakes that can be overnight trips.

I have a couple lakes within 15-20 minutes from my house. Sometimes Ill drive up to Baltimore to fish with my little brother and thats about an hour and a half to his house and then at least another 30 min to get anywhere decent.

I start every morning fishing saltwater, before I decide what my target is and where I'm going the weather and tide is checked. Most of the time I go to the inlet which is about 20 minutes, I can fish the ICW or beach about 10 minutes away if I desire. During the fall I drive about 45 minutes probably abut 6 times.

Most of my bass fishing is in the PM and I do it at home, have 6 ponds and canal. In the winter I will venture a 30 minute ride someplace once in a while for some peacocks.

Day trips can be up to 2 hours one way mostly for tournaments. We try to do at least 1 serious trip a year that can mean a 2 day drive towing a boat.

Pretty much any lake really worth fishing is an hour or more from me. I've driven 3 hours for a day trip. Drove 9 hours one way to fish Minnetonka for a day and a half or a planned 9 day trip, but that's a long story. I'd much rather drive an hour or two and have a shot at some good fish rather than drive 15 to one of the local lakes where a good day is 10 fish with a remote shot at something over 4.

I'm lucky to live within an hour of Table Rock, Beaver Lake, and Grand Lake. Some medium sized lakes also in that radius. And there's some very good community lakes within 10 minutes. Expand my radius out to three hours and there's Stockton, Bull Shoals, Ouchita, Arkansas river, and Hudson. Lots of water to fish, enough for a lifetime.

Kentucky Lake = 15 minutes

Lake Barkley = 30 minutes

When I lived in Erie, Pa, Presque Isle Bay was 15 minutes away...couple of other good waters was 30-45 mintues. I guess I've been blessed that way. :eyebrows:

The farthest I've driven is about 40-50 minutes away to fish a gravel pit and a small lake. I don't have a boat so it's not worth it to drive 3 hours to fish from a shore :/. Most of my shore fishing spots around St Clair are within a half our drive.
