Went up to coral springs this morning as i do every few weeks for some snakehead action. Had a buddy with me, he had one blow-up but missed it. Other than that, no snakeheads. Caught a small 1.5# bass or so but nothing else. After an hour i started throwin a spinnerbait and still had nothing :Idontknow: . guess thats why they call it fishing, just a bad day thats all. :sad-021:

Hope everyone else did better than i did, haha

I have noticed that there has been less of them around lately. I think people have caught on to eating them? They will be back. You have to go during the afternoon. During the day they are on the bottom and they dont eat.

Seeing less snake heads is a good thing. The round up eradication program must be working.

I will certainly agree less snakeheads are a good thing. I havent killed them that much lately when i did catch them. Even when i was up there a couple of weeks ago i only caught 2 i think. Oh well, next time i go i'll have to research out some new spots to try. Even with google earth sometimes its hard to see how accessible an area is by foot, depending on how old the imagery is. The bass bite further south has been pretty good the last few weeks though, so im not too bummed. Anyway enough rambling, good luck!

I have been catching the heck out of them. Quite big also. When Im using the frog its like 12 snakes to 1 bass. Using other lures or worms its all bass, bass have now becoe the fallback fish.

Not sure if anyone went out on Saturday but they were chomping like crazy. I had a possible personal best break off from me trying to horse it up onto the shore and rocks cut the line. Ended up catching another that was about 36 inches and 5 in total. My buddy caught 6 and lost 4 before noon. This was just hitting up spots on foot/car

I lost my Koppers frogs hook on the break off and put on a tropical white popping spro. I noticed many snakes waked up to it, inspected it and turned away. The ones that I did catch on this tropical spro were ones that hit it once it based on territorial violation or couldnt see it well from muck. They are much smarter than people may think.

Corey Nowakowski caught a 12#'er this weekend. There are alot of big ones out there. The reason that alot of people are coming up goose eggs on them is that everyone seems to be hitting the same holes. The guys who are killing it are hitting the out of the way spots. Palm Beach County is a good place to go on a killing spree.

Yes they are pretty smart. Ive also seen them bee line it up to the frog only to just turn away. I always try to either totally stop or twitch really quick to get them to eat but sometimes they just totally lose interest. Its always frustrating because they almost never even sniff at it during the 2nd cast. After that story by diggy i'm really jonesing about gettin up there again this week. I'll have to make it happen.

Still hittin bass pretty good down south. Found a nice little canal stretch in Southwest Ranches on Friday and caught a few bass(up to 3.5lbs) and 2 decent peacocks on flukes. I think i have a new favorite "go to" bait. Good Luck everyone!

Thanks@ capt shane...the pic of Corey's fish were crazy

mg4u2nv if the weather is the same, it should be good for you because it wasnt super hot and we caught a bunch of good sized ones

My second largest of that day counting the one that broke off and I had to fight it from across the lake on a full cast that just barely made it to the bank

Thats awesome! I think i made the decision to go later this week just seein that pic. I dont work til 1pm during the week, i need to make sure i run all my errands early this week so i can get up there thursday or friday morning. I'll look more closely at the weather the day before to make sure it'll be good. Hopefully i can have a morning with a little overcast and throw the buzz frogs. Have a few spots picked out that hopefully havent been hit too hard. If i get some good ones i'll post them up. Good luck!

we started about 7:30...you can hit the pillaged spots, the key is to pillage the areas before the other pillagers get there....they will then be the skunkee because you picked it clean before they arrived

Nailed a couple of nice ones in the Sunrise area. Out by the Sawgrass area are some holes that they are thriving in.

Snakes are almost everywhere right now. My buddy and I are catching bass, chichilids, snakes, peas, etc all in the same area. I don't think Ive caught many small snakes recently..Many are in this range below or bigger...My shoe size here is 11.5

Been meaning to do some snakehead fishing but the fall fish run has been really good, hard to tear myself away, as we all know it can end at any time. Not every day but almost it's been a fish on almost every cast, one of the best years I have seen. This week we have rough weather coming in, I'm excited about that.

are you fishing off the C-14, I don't think there are many peas north of Tradewinds park.
