piscicidal Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Robert and I got out fishing this morning for a couple hours. We had an area that we knew held some good fish, but we never imagined the kind of day we would end up having. Fishing from 9:30- 12:00 we caught ~45 fish, our five best weighing 30.5lb. About half the fish we caught were 3.5lb or better, with our biggest going 8.5lb. We both had to leave at noon...you ever seen a 40year old guy cry like a kid being dragged out of the candy store by his mom? It aint pretty. Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted October 4, 2012 Super User Posted October 4, 2012 Oh sure Mike, rub it in! I haven't been out for a while. Hell of a bag right there guys. That's definitely one awesome quick trip at Lox. Quote
piscicidal Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Eric, That Dobyns 804 was worth it's weight in gold yesterday. That rod is P-E-R-F-E-C-T. It launches baits a mile, but has enough backbone to get em up and out of trouble. You were right on the money with that. I think Rob is gonna get one also. Gary Dobyns ought to give you a commission! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 4, 2012 Super User Posted October 4, 2012 OUTSTANDING! :respect-059: Quote

Gary Dobyns ought to give you a commission! Arguably one of the best rods I've bought in a while. That thing is perfect for the majority of the fishing down here unless you're getting into really heavy flipping. I'm considering ordering a second one just because of how ultra versatile it is. As good as it is for swimbaits, it makes an awesome spinnerbait rod in the grass with braid. Quote
megabasist Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 That's awesome! First post guys, so go easy on me when I say I have had a similar day out there as well. Five or six years ago the buoys were down at one of the spillways. Deep cranking 8 pounders at Lox. I guessed that we had at least 6 fish over 8 pounds, most were solid 3.5 - 5 pounds. Glad to hear that place is producing. Quote
