dam0007 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Speaking of Mojo Bass rods has any one tried their Crankbait specific Mojo Glass rods? They look good as far as stats/price go. Sorry for jackin the post. Quote
Stasher1 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 If you can't find a rod in the Premier line that works then your doing something wrong... Wow, what an incredibly stupid response. Why buy a rod in the length/power/action that you prefer when you can "make do" with a similar rod, built on the same blank, with the same components, by the same company, for the same price, but not in the length/power/action you really want? Yup, those Mojo owners are all morons for actually buying what they want. Quote

They look good as far as stats/price go. Sorry for jackin the post. I have the Mojo "Deep Crankster" and like it really well. I don't fish deep cranks a lot but I feel it has helped me get a better feel for my bait and has helped me get better at the technique. As for the OP's question I have the 6' 8" "Wacky Style" Mojo and like it really well. I bought it originally for shakyheads and it worked really well for that paired with a 2500 Symetre. I had a couple good tournaments and replaced it with 6' 10" LTB rod and now I use it for wacky worms and it also throws small cranks very well. I got the Mojo instead of a Premier because I like a split grip handle on my spinning rod instead of a full handle, just a personal preference of mine. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted October 5, 2012 Super User Posted October 5, 2012 Could/Can go to the bargain room and gotten LTB for $120. I did and I loooove the rod. Quote

You must be one of those people that needs the manufacturer to label their rods so know which one to use. They may have the same name on both models, but that's as far as it goes... Mojo = made in Mexico... Premier = made in the USA PERIOD! Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted October 6, 2012 Super User Posted October 6, 2012 If you can't find a rod in the Premier line that works then your doing something wrong... And here I was buying lengths and actions that I prefer and work the best for me when the premiere "will do ". I don't understand was I thinking..... Quote

If your so staunch in your patriotism, how did you ever part ways with your hard earned, red white and blue USA dollars on a rod made in China, like the Abu you have for sale in the flea market? Why are you willing to trade it for a Korean or Malaysian made Shimano reel. Why are you not out buying 100% American made products.............oh thats right, cause your just a huge delta bravo. If I can afford USA made at the time of the purchase, and I like a particular rod I buy it. I never said ALL things made in the USA are better, but in the case of these two rods, yes. I would also choose made in Japan or China over made in Mexico. As far as Delta Bravo goes, your the *********. You have no right to call anyone a *********, so right back at you. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted October 6, 2012 Super User Posted October 6, 2012 Why do the St. Croix threads have to turn into a "Made in USA" topic. It's ridiculous. Let people fish/buy what they want. End of story. This crap is really getting dull. If you can't contain yourself not to make a comment that is useful to the thread, then don't post. The posts don't do anything but pour gas on the fire. It's not even worth discussing St. Croix here without it turning into a flame fest. Quote
jerzeeD Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I used a 6'8" M/XF spinning model for 3 seasons before upgrading this year to a legend tourney in the same length and action. The guide insert on the tip fell out on me, but Mike at DVT is my neighbor and he repaired it for me free of charge. ( Good guy who knows his stuff.). It worked great for me besides that. It took a beating and I probably caught about 200+ fish on it. Used it with a Pflueger President XT with 10 lb. p-line cx. For 100 dollars, it worked well. Quote

Mojo = made in Mexico... Premier = made in the USA PERIOD! And you must be one of those blind-patriot jackasses that assumes a product's quality is determined by its country of origin, not the materials and manufacturing processes. Wake up and look beyond the little "Made in USA" label. Quote

Fostinator Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 I actually ended up going with a Shimano Teramar and a Diawa Legalis. So far so good. Caught my biggest bass the other day on it. Quote

Seems like a nice set up. I'm looking for a new spinning set up for Christmas. Do you mind telling me the specs of the rod and reel? Are you only using it for worms and shiners? or anything else? columbiar Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 The premiers are around 30 bucks more at bass pro. Quote
Crabcakes Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Are the Mojos and Premiers actually the same blank? I certainly didn't think this was the case. I know they use the same ScII graphite but the blanks didn't feel the same to me. Could be the guide layout I suppose. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted October 27, 2012 Super User Posted October 27, 2012 If you can't find a rod in the Premier line that works then your doing something wrong... Probably not holding his mouth right. lol Hootie Quote
