TNBassin' Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Just bagged another 7' MH Veritas micro guide rod for $76 shipped from Wal Mart.com of all places. I've ordered rods from them before, and they ship very fast which was surprising, and all rods are sealed in plastic and packaged nicely. Just a heads up for those interested. Oddly the micro guide rods were $70.80 while the regular version was full retail. Nice deal on an amazing rod. Quote
Arv Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 This is the second time I've heard about the walmart prices on a Veritas. Man, I wish I could justify buying another set up right now.. Quote
21farms Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 thanks for the heads up...i just ordered a veritas winch rod for $77 shipped. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted October 2, 2012 Super User Posted October 2, 2012 Arg. To close to Christmas lol Quote
TNBassin' Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 My hand hovered over "submit order" for a minute but I just couldn't pass up that deal. I love these rods. Wish walmart had villains. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted October 3, 2012 Super User Posted October 3, 2012 My hand hovered over "submit order" for a minute but I just couldn't pass up that deal. I love these rods. Wish walmart had villains. Ha ha. I have thought about selling my 7'11" H so I can get a 7'3" MH. The 711 is great for pitching and ripping bass out of cover, but it blows for trying to use it from shore. Quote
TNBassin' Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 I hate being shore bound. When the reservoir here gets low, we take our boat out of dock and don't stick it back in until the water is back up near march. The good thing is that you can walk out to where you wanna be most of the time, and even find some lost lures lol. Quote

I think a bunch of people beat me to it, but I did get about 50 golf balls. I got skuned with a big freaking 0 today. Hit the water at 6am and just got home about 3pm. Guys in boats did great though Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Got both of my winch rods i ordered on the 9/27 today. They were packaged very well and in great condition when i received them. Can't wait to get back out on the water this weekend to try them out. Quote

Kevinator1 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Hey guys, I found a sporting goods store on ebay, an established well known store, that is selling new Veritas rods for $79.99 plus free shipping. Hard to beat that. I ordered 2 Winch models. They still have some left. Quote

They are $71.89 for the winch rods and about $6 tax (free shipping). Quote

I have bought 4 different models and they always have them in stock Quote

moguy1973 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Just got my Veritas in the mail today. Got to love FedEx Saturday deliveries! I can' believe how light it is. I have a Shimano Clarus 6'10" baitcast rod I bought last year (I think it's a '10 model) and this thing is about half what that rod weighs it seems... It did come in with 2 bent micro guides though, but nothing I couldn't bend back like they should be. Can't wait to get my Revo S this weekend to put on it! Quote
TNBassin' Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 Glad everyone got a good deal on these. Quote
ghost Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Thanks for the heads up on the Veritas micro casting rod. I went ahead today and bought the 6'9" MH, my favorite length for a casting rod. I have the 6'9" veritas with standard guides, still fairly new, I should sell since I don't need 2 of the same rod. Any interest? BTW, I also ordered from TW the Quantum EXO casting rod, 6'10" MH, it's on sale for $130. Quote

I am going to get another 7' medium micro guide rod and that will make two. I want a rod for tubes and tubes only. Make it a rod that you use braid with and a leader. The micro rods suck for using a leader. I am making it a point to never get rid of another rod again. Quote
