hey... im in the search for a new spinnerbait rod, which will be paired with a Quantum Code reel i already have...

i heard good things about the Abu Garcia Vendetta, but i couldnt find it online at a good price... i did however found a Veritas, 6´9", MH, with free shipping, so i just ordered it yesterday.

when i go and pick it up, i may be able to find a Vendetta at the local Academy... they have it marked $20 cheaper than the Veritas.... since i dont know if the Vendetta will be available in 3 weeks when i will make the trip up there, i ordered the Veritas as backup plan... but if i decide to pick the Vendetta, i can always return the Veritas for a full refund....

so, in case i find the Vendetta, which one would you choose?? the vendetta is 6´6", MH as well... i could get that one and save $20, or should i keep the Veritas i have ordered???

this would be used mainly for spinnerbaits, using the Code reel most likely with Fluorocarbon...

I personally own the 6'9 MH veritas and it's my favorite rod in my entire line up. I use it for spinnerbait, chatterbait, senko, texas rig, and pretty much anything I can think of while out fishing. it's kind of my utility infielder rod.

I have a 7' and 6'9 MH/F Veritas and, like aumdb said, I can throw pretty much everything on them. I use my Mojo more for spinners and vibrating jigs, but I wouldnt think twice about tying one onto one of my Veritas'. If you already ordered it, I would stick with it and leave the Vendetta on the shelf.

thanx for the info!!

i thought about saving those $20 and get 3 packs of senkos with them... but if the veritas us really better than the vendetta, i guess ill keep it... i specially like it is longer, so i will be able to cast my spinnerbaits farther away.... i hope this wont affect my accuracy much...

so, anybody thinks i should rather pick a vendetta and save myself $20?? or do everyone agree the veritas is a better rod?? i heard a couple stories about it breaking during hooksets, any info on that??

thank you!

Another vote for the Veritas. I also have the 6'9" and the 7' MH rods and love them. I think you will be very happy with it.

Veritas hands down. I have both rods and there's no comparison.

I really don't know where these stories of it breaking come from. I've heard about them too from second hand sources, but nearly everyone I've ever talked to that has one has not had this issue. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it just doesn't seem like as big of an issue that it can sometimes be made out to be, from my experience. And even if it does break, abu rods have a 3 year warranty, so just keep the receipt and you should be fine in the chance that it does happen.

I had a veritas and it broke on a hookset right between the tip top and the first eye. I exchanged it for another one and the same thing happened. I went with the mojo series instead and couldn't be more pleased. These were both 7' MFspinning rods by the way.

I did pick up another Veritas for cheap and have been using it for shakey heads and light texas rigged plastics and it seems to be doing the job well so far and no breakage just yet :)

I prefer the Veritas. I own 5 Veritas and 2 Vendettas but The Vendettas do have a few different powers in the lengths the Veritas offeres in one power lower such as the case with the 7'3" H Vendetta and the 7'3" MH Veritas. I don't care for the trigger on the Vendetta very much either.

I'm the opposite. I hate the trigger on the Veritas but love it on my Vendetta. Love my Vertias more though.

Walmart.com has the veritas micro and winch rods for around $70. Just picked up another for that price.
