http://www.bassresou...sonalities.html

I was reading this article and it gave me a good chuckle because I know a few guys that fit several of the different categories, I'm sure we all do. I'm a bit of a mix between "The Addict" and "The Natural" I suppose. I come by a lot of my abilities naturally it seems and everyone seems to think I could catch one out of a bathtub :eyebrows: That may have something to do with the fact that I'm constantly at it, before work, after work, weekends, days, nights, birthdays, anniversaries, doesn't matter. So what kind are you?

Ha, yeah, I'd agree I'm a mix of "The Natural" & "The Addict" as well, without the wife ready to leave bit, (only because she made me promise at the end of last year’s season to fish less this year) which I did, and it sucked......

Definitely a McGyver Addict and occasionally a philosopher. Gone swimming after snagged fishing lures on multiple occasions and just do not feel like a fisherman unless I look like a redneck. It is almost a requirement if you want to be my friend you have to go fishing with me on weekends

Philospher,banker and natural.

I'm out to have a good time. I fished on shores so much that I've figured out just how to catch one when nobody else can. Aslo a natural, fishing just comes to me..... My wife probably left me due to part of my fishing habit. :dazed-7::Idontknow:

I would say that I am somewhere between the Trophy Hunter, Journalist, Natural, and lockjaw.

"The Mad Scientist", except maybe just "The Scientist"... I don't challenge people on what they know about fishing, and don't think observing is more fun than actually having a line in the water.

Maybe a little bit of all, I will B.S. with some of my closest friends about the day for sure, still a rookie I will consider myself, I am never done learning and will take the time to watch things, 99% of the time my family is with me, patience, I definatly have, willing to camp out at a store for something, sure, I love camping anyway, so yes the answer is D, all of the above.

Kinda like a "corn dog" everything in one meal and shoved on a stick LOL !!

Cute article. Philosopher and banker, here. I fish so that I can spend good time with my good kids along the banks of a good lake. Caught a few nice fish yesterday, got to enjoy the perfect weather and first changes to the leaves, and was able to start teaching the boy to drop shot. Lovely.

I'd say Im probably 'the journalist'. Maybe a little of 'the newbie' too except Im gonna keep at it. Not planning on quitting anytime soon. I can't help it if I just started fishing this summer. Trying to get away from 'the newbie'.

Posted

Definitely the newbie as at the moment I do not catch many fish but I can successfully catch anything else laying on the bottom, but part philosopher as I just enjoy being out there..... being terrible!

Bad case of "The Addict" and a bit of the "Trophy Hunter".

I worry that if I got a girlfriend it would take away from my fishing time, lol.

And I do live to find that next trophy bass. It's all about beating my current PB.

Defintely a magician here! Wear the same shoes, clothes, and hat if I did well. Have to have my rods in my box in a certain order. I do shower and change underwear and will wash the clothes, but if I it works, I ain't fixing it!

Love that "Sportsman" description, I know some of those guys, that's them absolutely to a "T".

I guess I'm a banker, lock jaw, addict.

I am a McGyver with a serious addiction, but the McGyver in me always wins because it's the choice between fishing and that new lure, fishing always wins.

That's a funny article ~

Like many, I guess I'd be a little of a few of theses -

I've got some "Mad Scientist" going on.

At times the "Lock Jaw" kicks in.

Many trips I feel like a "Reverse Bank Beater" - spending much of the trip fishing the entire perimeter of the lake (from the Old Town).

Most of this season (and any time I fish with Dwight) Complete "Newbie".

And I'll add a new one - "Tackle Jackal" The guy who's gear Must be Cleaned, Maintained and looking new at all times - before during and directly after every and all fishing trips.

I like that one, reminds me of my dads friend. We used to go on an annual walleye fishing trip each spring and he actually made you hook your crawlers while holding them over the side of the boat so no dirt would get in the boat. Not that it's a bad thing, his boats 12 years old and it still looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

Addict and trophy hunter here.

I'll spend six hours without a bite in search of a hog one day and then go after schoolies that night only to be out at sun up the next day and do it all over again. BTW, I'm married, but she likes to get me out of her hair more often than not. :)

The Addict. When I'm not fishing, I'm thinking about fishing or shopping online for new gear that I really don't need. Every time I spend $$ my GF sheds a tear for that bigger engagement ring she thinks she could have gotten.

He's missing #14, The Bad Luck Angler, the guy who retrieves less lures that what he throws out

Lol! That was me all morning long. Lost 4 hooks/worms and a crankbait in about an hour and a half. Would have been nice if I could have at least caught a fish for all my troubles.

I would say a mix

"The Trophy Hunter

it is a private lake with big bass in it so thats the interests......we don't target the crappie...gill's ....catfish....or anything else but the big bass...we are looking at adding some rainbow trout...to help produce trophy bass...

Natural....that is me

Journalist

We do worry about what we will get since we have a streak going of getting a bass everytime but once this year..(and I lost a 5 pounder) we do take pics..but only post the fish 4 pounds and up...
