MIbassin Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 whats everyones first lure they throw when you get on the water? Quote
Super User MCS Posted September 29, 2012 Super User Posted September 29, 2012 something top water, jitter bug, popper or zoom toad or vibe worm, or work flukes close to the surface. Quote
BassAssassin726 Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Depends on the situation. But usually i start topwater and go down from there. Always have a Zara Spook, spinnerbait, crankbait, jig, and a worm. Quote
BassAssassin726 Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 something top water, jitter bug, popper or zoom toad or vibe worm, or work flukes close to the surface. I just recently got into twitching weightless flukes on the surface or just below really early in the mornings right before and as the sun pokes over the horizon and man theyre awesome. Fish cant stand that erratic twitching action. Quote
TNBassin' Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Lipless crank or rage rigged worm. Quote
tholmes Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Lipless crank or a T-rigged worm. Tom Quote
Quitlimpin Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 If I have any expectation of a top water bite, I'll throw a buzzbait for 15-20 casts--if no bite, a pop r for 15-20 casts. If I'm not getting bit, out comes the t-rig and the fat ika. Quote
MIbassin Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 will lipless cranks work on inactive fish? Quote
Highhawk1948 Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 As fall starts I am throwing a Cordell Spot, lipless crankbait, red crawdad or bleeding shad. Quote
RobertBG Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I just recently got into twitching weightless flukes on the surface or just below really early in the mornings right before and as the sun pokes over the horizon and man theyre awesome. Fish cant stand that erratic twitching action. I do the same with a senko, got to try the flukes sometime.Although they love the senko's so much I find it hard to commit to something else. The action of a proper twitch is just too hard for them to resist.................lol Quote
Super User Marty Posted September 29, 2012 Super User Posted September 29, 2012 Jitterbug, unless there is a specific reason that day not too, such as cold water or dense weeds on the surface. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted September 30, 2012 Super User Posted September 30, 2012 6" Zoom Lizard, watermelon red. Quote
Super User MCS Posted September 30, 2012 Super User Posted September 30, 2012 I just recently got into twitching weightless flukes on the surface or just below really early in the mornings right before and as the sun pokes over the horizon and man theyre awesome. Fish cant stand that erratic twitching action. Man I got 2 nice keeper size today doing that method. Learned it from my buddy Flyfishman. Quote
SGT Rico Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I always start top water. Buzz bait, pop'r, and Rage toads. After that, the process of elimination begins. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted September 30, 2012 Super User Posted September 30, 2012 I like to get to the lake right around sunrise and the topwater bite is usually pretty good so most of the time I throw a frog. Started fishing crankbaits recently and been having a lot of luck so I might try them the next morning I go out and see how I do. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 30, 2012 Global Moderator Posted September 30, 2012 Depends on the time of year. Winter-jerkbait/jig depending on water temp Spring-jerkbait/spinnerbait/buzzbait again depending on water temp Summer-buzzbait Fall-buzzbait/spinnerbait Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted September 30, 2012 Super User Posted September 30, 2012 Jig with large trailer like a brush hog. Quote
paul25 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Most of the time im starting with a rage craw but depending on the time of year i may start with a jerkbait Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted September 30, 2012 Super User Posted September 30, 2012 It depends on what time of day, season, and where I'm fishing. Early morning I'll throw a top water bait or some other search bait. Swim jig/ Lipless Crank. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Start with 7" Slug-O or 7.5"Culprit....If the situation is set for it i will throw a jitterug (my favorite lure), then ill prob throw a jerkbait then put a jig head on with a watermelon lizard usually 7". Quote
Bayoubassin8 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Baby bass colored zoom super fluke just bellow the surface. 1 Quote
Super User deep Posted September 30, 2012 Super User Posted September 30, 2012 I have so little time to fish this semester that I went 100% big bass mode, and 0% fun fishing stuff. So it's been either a jig or a swimbait lately... Quote
fisher of bass Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I like to wake the fish up with a lipless crank or spinnerbait, then follow up with jig, fluke or wacky senko depending on the type of bottom and depth Quote
