Super User retiredbosn Posted October 2, 2012 Super User Posted October 2, 2012 I like the ol' monster but use the 12" Quote
Refined N Focused Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I have a box full of 12" Black shad Culprits. I use a leather craft (big) needle to to thread line through the worm to a second hook (remember the little "Creme" worms with two hooks). This is a massive rig with a bullet weight. My second largest bass came to the boat on this one. Ronnie I was going to say the same thing Quote
BirdNestBen Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Yes- I'm glad someone brought this up... it's a part of your arsenal you need, that is often overlooked.... Some of my biggest bass ever have come on Berkley Powerworm blue fleck 10".... I fished a small lake last spring known for smaller bass... so I traded him a big powerworm for a smaller worm... First cast his rod was bent double, and he got a 10 lb. bass nearly to the bank on a spinning rod, before his line suddenly broke.... I like them on 5/0 hooks.... Quote
Super User scaleface Posted November 13, 2012 Super User Posted November 13, 2012 I like the Paul Elias reference in the original post.Hes the one pro I would love to fish with. He doesn't do what every body else is doing , hes always doing his own thing. I could learn a lot from him. Guido would be my second choice. I caught a couple of large bass and missed several large explosions at night on a buzzbait, on this one particular flat this year. I may have to bring the big Jelly worms out of retirement and probe deep on that flat next summer. Quote
paul. Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 big fan of the luck-e-strike baby huey. great worm. it's versatile (segmented so you can break off sections as needed). it don't cost a fortune and has worked better for me than some worms that do. Quote
