Jake P Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 WHAT.THE.HECK One of the worst calls I have ever seen in sports history. Clearly offensive pass interference and a INT. That was almost impossible to mess up and they did. Get ready for the NFL to explode tomorrow! Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 Whoa... just think if the Pack miss the playoffs by 1 game. Yikes, that was terrible. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 I wish I didn't quit drinking on work nights, because it's going to be difficult to sleep tonight. Quote

RyneB Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 If you look at the first 2 games of the season, the Packers were the benefit of most of the horrible calls. Especially the 49ers game. Now the call was against them and theyre crying and complaining. But theyre fine when the calls go there way. Everyone said the Packers were going to be great this year. There offense isnt playing well at all. If theyre so good, why did they keep the game close enough for the refs to screw them? 1 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 Worst blown call I have ever seen in sports! Jeff Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 25, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 25, 2012 8 sacks and stout defense WON the game. It's the same stout defense that totally OWNED the Cowboys in last week's 27-7 pounding. They completely shut out Greenbay in the first half. Nobody has done that in years. The impressive final drive of the game was practically end-zone-to-end zone in less than 2 mins - orchestrated by a rookie quarterback no less. Sad that everyone loses those facts due to a controversial call. The game had many, of which both teams "benefited". The 'Hawks beat the Packers, DESPITE the bad calls. 1 Quote
Scorcher214 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Not only this game but during the lions-titans game. Lots of screw ups. I was surprised the packers game was even that close Rodgers was getting lit up like mad. Quote

Welcome to Steelers land Glenn. You know you've made it when you have haters. LOL I actually enjoyed the first 1/2 (I went to bed) and thought that Seattle looked pretty good. Their defense was entertaining me as I am a big fan of physical pass rushing teams. They look legit and personally I thought the play at the end was called correctly. It was also reviewed by non-replacement officials in the booth and deemed the correct call. For the record, Glenn and I have butted heads about football ever since the Steelers beat the Seahawks in the Superbowl. For me to publicly show ANY type of support for Seattle says something. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 they never call pass interference in those cases but it was fairly obvious who caught the ball. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 Well, Seattle played a great game, but that's REALLY not the issue is it? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/don_banks/09/25/replacement-refs-packers-seahawks/index.html Quote

No doubt Seattle's defense was awesome; they made the Pack's O-line look like swiss cheese in the first half. I also agree the bad calls went both ways...but none in the same zip code as the last screw-up. Seattle's defense put them in a position to win the game, Tate's blatant OPI and the ref's blown call on the interception won them the game. Quote

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the final call that decided the game. Sure they played better than expected. Thats awesome and all BUT thats not what won them the game. You dont win a game by simply playing great. You win a game by scorin more points than the opposing team. The final call was without a doubt 100% undeniably WRONG. Anyone who honestly thinks that was a catch needs to go watch soccer or volleyball. Sure you can say in the end in the books Seattle has a W. To me its a L. How can anyone be happy winning a game that way? I think its pathetic watching Golden taint celebrate like he actually caught the ball knowing d**n well he did not. I just dont get it. Regardless everyone has their own opinion and if you are comfortable taking a W that way then more power to you. I would rather earn something then have it handed to me undeservingly. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 26, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 26, 2012 You obviously are forgetting the only TD drive by Greenbay was kept alive by not one, but two terrible ref calls. So take the two "gimmee" TD's away from both teams, and guess what? Seattle scored more than GB. And by your own admittance, that's a win. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted September 26, 2012 Super User Posted September 26, 2012 Bad calls happen even with "professional refs" and we lived with it before plays were challenged and reviewed. I personally don't care for the red flag, but see the need with the plays being instantly replayed on the jumbotron. Unlike golf, football is game where the players do not call penalties on themselves, at least there are temps working and we have football, the alternative is no football until a settlement is achievement. DavePNW Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 That aside I fully support the seahawks. hahaha Quote
