Daddyodo Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Need some advice. I am going to be buying a baitcasting rod in the next few weeks and only have a hundred bucks plus tax to spend. This will be a rod I use for everything. What in your opinion is the best rod for the job? Quote
TNBassin' Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Veritas micro guide rod. $99 well spent. 1 Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 I second the Veritas. They can be found for 80 shipped on eBay too. Quote
kylek Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 What they said x3. I have 2 and love them. I would go with a 7' MH action. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted September 25, 2012 Super User Posted September 25, 2012 I like my Falcon Originals. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The Cabelas Prodigy in both regular and micro guides is a great rod and right at $99 but can be had on sale for $70 Quote
FishinChris Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Veritas all the way - 6'9 MH or 7'0 MH.....and if you can, slap a new revo S on that bad boy! Quote
Loop_Dad Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I like my Shimano Clarus. I'm not sure if you need to cast long, like fishing from shore, if so, I'll go longer with 7'6" MH, otherwise 7'. Quote
shady oaks Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Another vote for the Veritas. Have 2 myself, soon to be 3. A 7' MH micro guide would be a great all around rod. Quote
tugsandpulls Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 stcroix triumph and 20$ to spend on tackle Quote
sarcazmo Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I have a carbonlite, veritas, and *** *** Black. I REALLY like my ***! That being said you cant go wrong with a veritas either. If possible hold as many as you can with whatever reel you're going to put on it and pick what feel smost comfortable to you. Quote

I have the 7' M Micro as my top water rod. I love it. I am going to add a 5th soon. I really like the 7'3" MH. Big ole fat backbone. It will be a dedicated Texas Rig rod Quote
