bassin is addicting Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 just got my first batch of JJ's (clear)....wow!! it's stong can't wait for the ice to thaw so i can use it just wondering a couple things.. after dipping a plastic and fishing with it...is it ok to put back in bag with the rest of the same type plastics? or do i want to keep it seperate? or with other plastics i have dipped? do i want to take the jar with me......or pre-dip some different plastics before i go and pack them together? when not fishing in tournaments i fish exclusively from the bank. is it going to smell up my whole tackle bag if i pre-dip?? and then after i fish and pack back up? :-/ thanks.... airborne_angler Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Ive heard people say JJ's lasts a long time after you apply it to baits. I will have to disagree. I dipped some of my baits last June or July, and put them back into the original bags. I opened those bags recently and no scent...Nothing. Most of the color from the JJ's was gone too. These were baits that I never even used, never saw water. Only 1 bag of baits survived the JJ's dip and that was a bag of Zoom tubes. I can open that bag up and it reeks something awful, the color remained on these as well. Why the JJ's scent and dye is gone from my other baits I dipped and not from the Zoom tubes?...I imagine its because the JJ's got inside the tube as well when I dipped it.I just dont know for sure though. Super User Hammer 4 Posted February 20, 2010 Super User Posted February 20, 2010 I've used JJ's since last June...what I do is dip em then store them in the newer zip lock baggies. The smell will linger a bit in your tackle bag/box for awhile, but it will go away. I also try and get all the air out of the bag, and roll it up as much as I can..Note: do this outside, or in a well ventalated garage.. Quote
