Chatterbaits?

Do these have a spot in the tackle box, or are they over rated? If you had just one, what would the color be?

Yes they have a spot in my tacklebox, I usually have a baby craw on them as a trailer.  I catch quite a few fish each year on chatterbaits.

I really like chatterbaits. You can use them alot of different ways, I like to bang them off cover.The white with gold blade is my favorite.

They absolutely have a spot in mine.  My favorite is a Booyah Boogie bait in black/blue.  I like them so much because they can be fished however you want to fish them.  Slow roll them on the bottom, burn them over top of grass, bounce them off cover, whatever.  The best part is, they catch fish!  I would never go to the lake without one.

I've had insane luck on the ChatterFrogs (which stay up on the water column) and decent luck with Chatterbaits and SK Poisons. I like to use Chatter-style-baits in stained-murky water when I would normally use a spinnerbait. I always have a few chart or bluegill colors in my box.

Absolutely! You can have some awesome days on farm ponds where the fish havent seen them. I like the 3/8 model with a secret weapon brand bluegill skirt and a Gary yammamoto twin tail in chartruese.

I've also had good luck crawling the black one on the bottum with a zoom chunk trailer in blue.

Normally choose the same colors you would use on your spinnerbaits.  Try this, remove the skirt (Booyah ) and thread a white or pearl Fluke on it.  If you have any water clarity at all, it will work.  It looks like a swimbait on steroids

Yes, they deserve a spot front and center. I have had luck with the black and blue, producing a 4lb 14oz bass. That's pretty big for the waters I have access to.

I too use the Chatter Baits. The pure poison seems to run a little deeper than the Booyah or the original Chatter bait. Favorite colors are white and black & blue with a split tail trailer. I looking foward to trying one with a fluke instead of a skirt. Might just have to try that out on Toledo Bend next weekend.

The Original Chatterbait in White/Chart

This bait quickly became my favorite. From the first time I tied it on and saw its extraordinary action in the water all the way up until I caught my PB 10.4 lber last year, this bait will always have a special place in my box.
