MIbassin Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 if you guys had to pick, would you pick a spinnerbait or a lipless crank...why? Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted September 23, 2012 Super User Posted September 23, 2012 Spinnerbait-One reason it can be slow-rolled/dragged on bottom. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted September 23, 2012 Super User Posted September 23, 2012 Never been in a situation to HAVE to pick between owning one or the other. Silly questions but I'll play along. It depends on what type of lake and season. With minimal grass and year round use I'd take the rattle trap. If lake is flooded with grass then spinnerbait. 1 Quote

Super User Hooligan Posted September 23, 2012 Super User Posted September 23, 2012 Pick one or the other for what? General purpose? Grass? Wood? Rock? Open water? Schooling fish? Cruising fish? Isolated fish? Can't choose one or the other, both are essential tools to an angler that is going to maximize his or her success in any given situation. Quote

X2 It's really an apples to oranges question, kind of like if you had to pick one would it be a KVD 1.5 or 6XD. Something like spinnerbait vs chatterbait would make a little more sense. The amount of grass and/or cover would depend a lot on which one I'm going with. Heavy grass or cover I'm going with a spinnerbait. If it's sparse or deep enough to pull one over then I'll go with the trap. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 23, 2012 Super User Posted September 23, 2012 haha I'm sorry guys i will clarify: submerged vegetation and some logs IDK, ripping a trap thru vegetation is a pretty darn good technique and a spinnerbait and wood...well, that just has a good ring to it. May I suggest something: Work some overtime and get both...LOL Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 24, 2012 Super User Posted September 24, 2012 haha I'm sorry guys i will clarify: submerged vegetation and some logs Spinnerbait. Those treble hooks on a trap will just snag. Quote
