Found some of these on clearance a Wally World today. I rigged it weightless with the tail up and fished it like a top water just reeled it straight back. I got one hit from a small fish, which is pretty good since the top water bite isn't very good at the lake I usually fish. How do ya'll fish this? Do you like it? Any specific cover/situations you like to fish it? Thanks!

Anywhere you would throw a buzzbait and anywhere you would be AFRAID to throw a buzzbait ;) Plus there are so many other ways to fish it including rigging on a weighted hook for more distance on your cast for windy conditions... It still surfaces easily and keeps it lower in the water.

Ck the link below and be sure to hit the read more under each set fo MUCH more info :) Also, maybe someone here on the forum will tell you about the tail tweak I recently let out of the bag  It's SWEET!!!

It works great but turn the tail DOWN, or on a lighter jig (3/8) it will surface on you at a medium retrieve... Wait'll you see it in the water ;)

Yes, give it an extra moment to attain the desired depth because the fall will be a bit slower... Ck a medium retrieve speed beside the boat and notice that the 1/2oz rocks back and forth considerably. I normally throw a 3/4 to 1oz and use it in situations where spinnerbaits or slightly larger profile swim jigs are necessary. Have fun!

They are fantastic buzzbait substitutes and in many places will outfish a buzzbait. They are something I always carry. They come through weeds and timber very well and the hookup rate is pretty good.

Can you work these like a popper, or is a steady retrieve the way to go?

Yeah you can, by just pulling them along but they do sink when you stop retrieving.

Any color recommendations for the Rage Tail Shad?

Green pumpkin, white, and green pumpkin/chartreuse.

Smokey Shad is the top seller and Green Pumpkin/Chartreuse is second... Tw and bps online has all of the colors.

I'm gonna pick up smokey shad and silver bling. Silve bling should be awesome.

Smokey Shad is my favorite color. I caught my pb (pic to the left here) this past March. The great thing about the RT shad is that you can cast it up on the bank or on the grass mats and then start the retrieve without making that impact splash from the bait hitting the water. They'll hammer it within a second or two after it reaches the water quite often.
