plaza80 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Looking to trade a coworker some of my stuff for his Quantum Energy E750 PT. It should be around a few years old as the new Energy PT is E100's. Problem is I just can't seem to look up any info on this reel and my coworker doesn't know much info either. Not sure if it's that old or what but even Quantums page has nothing on older reels. I even searched here and found nothing. Very very little hits on google search for this reel. Reviews and mechanical info (braking type) is what I'm looking for. Anyone has info on this reel please feel free to add. Quote

Stingray23 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I own one of theses reels. Its an excellent cranking reel. Looks great and is well built. The only down side I can think of is its slighlty too heavy, especially when you compare it to the newer reels. It really doesnt bother me though. I have 5 of theses Energys and they have performed flawlessly and still look like new. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I have the E761 PT which is the reel from the TT review and its a great all around reel. I believe the E750 is a little different but not by much it seems from reading both reviews. As some0ne else mentioned it is heavier than todays reels at 9.5oz for the E760 and 10.1oz for the E750 but it will get the job done. Quote
plaza80 Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 Thanks for the reply everyone. Seems like a well built reel. However seems like the price on the used market for these reels depreciates like a house a few years back. Forgot to mention but durability would be my main concern since I'm sure it should be 5 yrs old or older. Im looking to get a reel that I can take anywhere, camping trips, fishing trips, or a day out on the river to kill some time. Something that is not expensive and I dont have to worry about damage since it will be tossed around with all the luggage and crap during group trips. Trading some of my misc junk so it almost feel like I'm not spending anything on it. Also found some used ones for sale that seemed to be cheap, almost too cheap. Quote
Stingray23 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 If I remember corectly, these reels retailed for $180. Not sure. They are still very popular today. If you look on ebay or any fishing forum, you will see a lot of people bid or pick them up right away. Especialy the E750. In excellent condition, they still bring $80-$100. They are very solid and will not give you issues. Just lube it up and fish. Quote
