Super User Bassn Blvd Posted September 16, 2012 Super User Posted September 16, 2012 They are doing Obama and Romney skits, got me LMAO. Much better than the Palin skits. Quote
hooah212002 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Haven't watched since Chris Farley died and from what I hear, I'm not missing much. 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 17, 2012 Super User Posted September 17, 2012 I use to love it when it first came on. When the original cast left it went downhill and I don't think that it ever really recovered. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted September 17, 2012 Super User Posted September 17, 2012 Haven't watched since Chris Farley died and from what I hear, I'm not missing much. I'm with you there. Every now and then they have a few good skits, but man the writing on SNL has completely went down the drain. I got hooked on MAD tv for a while but that ended up getting canceled a few years back. My latest "haha" tv is Impractical Jokers on TruTv. That show is hilarious. Quote

I don't know if it's the writing, or the "actors". It used to be full of seriously funny people. Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Chris Farley, Dan Akroyd, etc. etc. Now, it is full of nobodies, save for a few here and there like Andy Samberg who is only situationally funny. He's only funny if you think his shtick is funny. The others? Original comedians. EVERYONE laughed at them. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted September 17, 2012 Super User Posted September 17, 2012 Yea that was the good old days. It's pretty crappy now. I think it's a combo of the lack of writing and the stupid actors. I'm not a big Andy Sandberg fan myself. Actually out of the cast that is current Bill Hader or Keenan Thompson are my favorites. Bill Hader doing John Malkovich or the alien sports caster was hilarious. And I like Keenan's prison guy who does the kid pep talks. Originally it was a skit with Tracy Morgan. Just think of how many hilarious movies would be floating around now if Farley didn't croak. His name is irrelevant to today's youth. My brothers ex, step kid had no idea who he was. Quote
