Hey guys just wondering what works best for peacock bass down here in south florida around the air port lakes (blue lagoon) and also in the Kendall area urban canals and past krome ave..... I was wondering if the same lures used for Lmb Work for peacock such as worms and soft plastics go thanks!!!

No they don't-think fast moving slashing baits like Rap Original Floaters, Shad Raps, X-Raps etc. For topwater think Torpedos, Spooks etc. All should be worked at a much faster pace than for LMB. If you think you are working it fast enough, then step it up a notch. If a bait moves slowly the peacock lose all interest

Like most any fish, peacock are attracted to structure and differences. Look for culverts, drains, brush along edges, bridges, seawalls, docks or decks, corners, rip-rap etc.

spook jrs, pop-rs, flukes, fluke jr's (my fav) and DOA terror eyez work for me. a fast erratic action is usually what gets bit. i have caught a few on senkos and ribbontails though...

another that seems to attract peas as well as LMB is a 4" lizard on a light shaky head worked up to the bank.

just saw those now, very nice fish. with all the great information and suggestions you received, it was only a matter or time before you got bit.

Yep really great info....now I need those largemouth spots cuz all I've seen around is peacock

What? I thought Peacock Bass were the most aggressive bass on the planet and have twice the fight of smallmouth AND grow to be huge? If this is correct, why in the world would you go looking for LMB?

theyre actually a cichlid. while they are crazy aggressive and put up an excellent fight, they window they are most active seems smaller than LMB. iirc , the record in florida is something like 10 lbs. and a bit of variety never hurts.
