I love my flukes and I know some guys throw them on spinning gear but I prefer casting.

I'm looking for a quality fluke rod for a100 bucks.

I'm open to any suggestions. But right now looking at a 6'6 or 7 ft med mojo bass am I on the right track?

I use a 6'6 st.croix premier medium heavy fast with a curado 50e

I would go with the Premier over the Mojo for the extra $10.00 The Premier is a much higher quality rod that the Mojo. I like a 7' MF for flukes.

I just throw them on my stick bait rod. The Denali murphy signature, but thats over your budget.. You could look at the Jadewood 783, would make a good fluke rod and work for other applications as well..

I always thought the mojo and premier used the same blank (scii).. If I recall correctly the mojo is assembled in Mexico.

They use the same graphite built on a different blank and I'm pretty sure only the mojo is made in Mexico

I prefer spinning but i would go with a M XF rod for that application. THe XF seems to really help with the action more so than a fast does. I think the mojo comes in a 6'8" MXF which would suit your needs pretty well.

I use spinning for the mini flukes. Had a rod with extra fast action and it was ripping the hook out of the nose and fluke. Got a 7' m fast mojo bass problem solved. Thanks for all the advise.

The premier is worth the extra money over the mojo IMHO. I also agree with a MXF rod.

My dedicated Fluke rod is a Powell 682c 6'8" M/XF. Couldn't ask for a more perfect rod. Powell's do cost about 140 for 7' and under, but if you can squeeze out 40 more dollars, there is absolutely no better rod for under 2 bones
