before i got the toon, i use 15 mono for my cranks and my spinnerbaits.. now that i want my baits a bit deeper id like try fluro.. wait is a resonable priced brand. I seen some suffix, i like there braid and mono. also I see people using fluro, braid and mono for spinnebaits. Not sure what is best. My 6'8 rod is for spinnerbaits, swim jigs and an occasional chatterbait, but mainly spinnerbaits. So would you stick to mono or go to braid. if so what lb test?

Also for cranking what is the best fluro. i use a citica 7' MH-Moderate rod. at moment this is my only cranking rod so i through 1.5s-dt 16s and lipless as well, i was thinkin 15 lb fluro..

I would use yo-zuri hybrid, flouro is just to expensive. The hybrid has great sensitivity pure fluro is a little more sensitive but not much. With the hybrid you get closed cell construction which is where u get a major jump in sensitivity. Don't believe that crap about flouro not stretching, just as stretchy as mono. Tackle tour did a great review on floro if u want to still go that route read it, that review may help point you in the right direction. But fishing the way you described with all reaction type baits I wouldn't pay the money for the floro, 12lb test hybrid has a breaking strength of 19lbs, and is really affordable. I buy mine on Ebay for 5 bucks for 600yds

I prefer braid for spinnerbaits just because I throw around a lot of Weeds and brush so it makes it easier to get it free ( most of the time :) ) I use 50lb test for almost everything.

As for crankbait line I like Daiwa Steez and Pline 100% fluorocarbon.

I haven't had the best luck with fluoro. So far BPS brand and invizx have been decent. I am waiting on a spool of the Yo-zuri hybrid to try. Everything about it looks amazing.

I was looking for the sinking capabilities. does the hybrid sink. i know all fluro stretchs. also i did have 8 lb fluro on spinning and hated it, I am hoping it will be more managable in a higher test on a casting rod.

Braid for spinnerbaits, i might try that, i fish around alot downed trees.

I will be the first in the post to say give it a try and see how you like it. I love fluorocarbon for my cranking rod. I have used a few brands. Vicious,Berkley,Seguar, and BPS XPS. I think a lot of people dislike it because fluorocarbon takes a little breaking in on initial spool. It's all about line management. Once you get it softened up it casts a mile and it is far stronger than mono. If you want to get cranks down deep and fast, then use braid. You can get cranks down faster with a thinner diameter fluoro line, but risk breaking strength to a certain extent. I would use 10lb for deepest and 15-17 for normal cranking. Good luck. Dont be afraid of fluorocarbon.

yes it sinks, but does so slowly. Once I got the hang of working a sammy type bait, I've had no problem working one with hybrid or floro. I think the sink rate is highly overated for getting a crankbait deeper. I think the difference comes in because floro and hybrid have a slightly smaller diameter than mono

i have the tackle tour review on the other tab,, good stuff. i didnt know fluro had a smaller diameter, learn somthing new everyday. still not sure what i am going to do. i had my pitchen stick lined with P-line when i fished james alot, casue of the clear water lake. I have heard yozuri preached on her forever, so i may give it a try.

For crankbaits I've had great luck with 10lb Trilene 100 % , Dont know why but it seems to handle better than the heavier weights. I use it for anything from dd22's to wiggle warts. If your going to use flouro for moving baits I dont think you have to spend a lot of money for the best For spinnner baits I either use 15lb big game or if I'm using flouro I like vicious.

I love flouro, but I bottom bounce T-rigs or jigs 99% of the time. Love the sensitivity and longevity.

Invisix is solid. Don't try Seaguar Tatsu because like heroin if you never try it you dont know what youre missing. Expensive but I'm able to make a 200yd spool last a season so I feel like It's well worth it. Least stretch, most abrasion resistance, and smoothest handling flouro I've tried.

After reading your original post forget what I said above. No need for the high end stuff throwiNguyen cranks and spinners.

Many here swear by the yo zuri line I'm going to look into it.
