Said to the wife:

"I won't be gone long"

"I'll be back in a little bit "

" it was on sale"

"yes I needed it, my other reel wasn't working right"

"no, I do not have enough fishing lures. Fish are very picky"

And of course you can never go wrong with "I'm sorry". This phrase is best said first thing in the morning. When she asks why you are sorry, you can say "for whatever I do to make you mad later today".

Better to do it aned say sorry later, than to ask for permission. haha

I see you are well versed in the number one rule of male-female interactions...Never give a specific time as to when you'll be back...be vague.

He's huge, he just crushed my (insert lure type). -

Turns out to be a 1.5lb

He was only a baby bass - any fish I lose no matter how big he might've been

That's sounds backwards...the ones I lose are always the biggest....as far as my story is concerned haha. Just look above my pic.

When we catch a Northern Pike instead of a Bass , we refer to the Pike as a "snakeuth pikeuth".

Here, it's a Gator!

I tell the smaller fish to go back and tell their grandmom how mean I was to them.

"He's small, but he fought hard...really fiesty"-hoists a 10 incher

Saying the same thing three times: "Man he just slammed it, he crushed that spinnerbait, I mean absolutely devoured it." or "That is a really nice fish, a healthy one, and fat too....thats just a really nice fish."

Here's a conversation we've had a few times now:

I hook into a bass (so I think) and the fight begins...

Me: "Oh my gosh, this bass is huge!!"

Buddy: "It's not coming up..."

Me: "Don't say that! Don't jinx me!"

Buddy: "It's not coming up..."

Me: "I'm telling you, this is a bass! This is the best fight I've ever had!!"

Buddy: "It's not coming up..."

Me: "Nooooo!! It's a catfish!"

Buddy: "Yep... it's a catfish."

When asked if I'd had any luck today...my answer has always been "Well I didn't fall out of the boat".
