greatone1210 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Got my first shipment in from Tackle Warehouse. I think I am addicted. How do you think I did on my order?? Stanley Ribbits Fat Ika SK Rage Shad SK Rage Toad Zoom Horny Toad Northstar Flip and Swim Jigs Dirty Jack No Jack Punching Jigs Owner Jig Rigs (essentially a pre-made Jika rig) Owner Yuki Bug Rage Craw Chunks Tungsten Bullet Weights Tungsten Nail Weights My current tackle setup has a lot of flukes (prob too many I think to carry at one time), senkos, grubs, KVD 1.5 cranks, slashbaits, and a few creature baits. Anything else I just have to pick up or should this keep me set for awhile, lol. Also, I know I bought a good number of topwaters (soft body frogs) but I fish some very heavily weeded areas. Thought they would be a good investment. 1 Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Nice! I love that place...they always have everything you need + all the stuff you dont need, but you just want lol. Quote
RyneB Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 id say its all good. But you didnt have a new Revo in your order, or a Gen 2 revo on sale. Also should have got a few weedless Hudds. Quote

Also should have got a few weedless Hudds. I have two setups already but my Lews TP 6.4.1 on a Falcon Bucoo 7'0 MH/Med-Fast Micro Rod is my do it all set up and I really, really like my Lews TP. Though I am not against anything AG, just read about how much people love the TP. And I am looking up what a Hudds are. Quote
greatone1210 Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 A+ for jigs and fat ika I just need to learn how to fish these stupid jigs. I am bound and determined to catch something this year. Quote
Arv Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I reverse rig the fat ika's with a 4/0 ewg hook and fish them weightless. Just sweep it off the bottom and let it sink. It has super sweet action on it. I caught several LMs the first day I used them. And jigs... so much to say about jigs. What cover are you fishing them in? Quote
greatone1210 Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Normally fish moderate to heavy vegetation. Throw jigs along the line and drag them or pop them. No bites yet. Quote
Arv Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I'm pulling this from my experience. Do you pop them high enough so they get enough room to fall or just scoot them across the bottom? And, do you let them sit on the bottom and twitch your rod? I've honestly had more fish subtly pick my jigs off the bottom when I'm just giving it that little bit of movement than when they fall. I also pop my jigs twice in succession - pop pop, sink. I feel like if I don't get them up high enough to really fall I don't get that reaction bite as opposed to when they get up enough and drop down. Not saying you have to break the surface or anything. 1 Quote
Super User deep Posted September 8, 2012 Super User Posted September 8, 2012 You did real well, for your first order. Soon it'll be time to place a second order, and then a third, and then the monkey has a firm hold on you! 1 Quote
greatone1210 Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 No kidding the baitmonkey has gotten a hold of me. I spent wayyy too much on lures. Bought a Plano KVD FTO Elite bag with the 3700 series lure specific boxes. Love how they set up and keep everything organized. It's great when you're shore fishing but it is a tad heavy. Might need to scale back on some things but I doubt I will. Out of curiosity, does anyone have any info on rigging the Rage Shads or soft-body frogs I ordered. I am planning on using a simple 4/0 or 5/0 Gammy EWG. Does this sound like the right way to do it? Quote
greatone1210 Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 Needs more rage craw. I have a few rage craws but only use them as jig trailers (with NO luck). What else can I use them for? Quote

Don't have any areas that I need to punch through weeds yet but they seem like they would be really good for that too. Quote
mikey5string Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 That Yuki bug on the jig rig is awesome. Quote
