I probably have a hundred. You can never have too many lures.

You NEVER - EVER have enough crankbaits.

You need to keep your favorites separate and use them in tournaments and places where you know you will not lose them.

You need to take all the others and use them everywhere.

No go out and buy some more.

X2. I have a crankbait addiction.

I feel better now, I'm thinking about converting my tackle box to a set of rolling luggage

That'd be a start. By the time you get to my age, you'll be right there with the big boys. I use a Tracker TX175 for my everyday stuff and I have a 4X8 pegboard in the garage full of Rapala DT's and Bandit 1-2&300's still in the package. BTW, Dicks had FatFree Shads on sale a week or two ago 2 for $5 and I picked up $20 worth.

My 'problem' is that I don't loose cranks unless I'm fishing from shore and the olnly time I do that is when I only have an hour or two to fish. I'm RETIRED! LOL

. I also bought a lure retreiver, but I'm not sure how well they work fishing from shore.

I'm not sure how they work from a boat, may need to invest in one. I don't lose many typically if I can just give them some slack I can get them back. Barring that I can typically get them back by getting behind them and they work loose.

Rockchalk, you only saw what I keep in my bag. I have the spares at home.

Ya, just alittle jealous lol

Heck, I think I've got close to 50, and I haven't even thrown a crank in months. :dazed-7:

I think I have about 50 too....but that's just with my Norman DD22's!

My name is Nick and I am a crank addict.

Man, I only have a couple different colors in each diving ranges, like 10 or so all together. This works for my wallet, my boat (small) and me. I don't know how you guys decide which one to throw when you have so many. If I had that many, I loose time deciding which one to throw.

I do waste time deciding what to use, lol. My addiction isn't any better, went by Academy they had the clankin crankin raps for 4 bucks, about half what I see them anywhere else, plus they had the H2O swimbaits for 2.88, I won't say how many I bought, but I'm safe as the wife still has more shoes than I do cranks.

a crank addiction....am i the only one here with an "all fishing lures" addiction? from cranks, to soft plastics that i have no idea what they are, but you grow out of it right??? :eh:

Doing some organizing today and I must admit that I have a problem. I have a crankbait problem, I have 16 square bills, 14 lipless, 12 round bill shallow runners, 10 medium, and 12 deep divers, this doesn't include poppers, sammy type baits, etc. Do I seriously need 64+ crankbaits?????? :dazed-7:

You've got a pretty good start there

I ain't keepin' track of how many I have, but I'm pretty sure it's somewhere north of 150.

At last count I have between 400-500 cranks ready to fish but I made most of those baits myself. I have approx 50-60 made by other builders. These are all balsa wood cranks, plastic cranks are not allowed.

Wow I have 3 crankbaits.

Don't feel bad. While I have more I'm still in your league compared to the other people in this thread, ha ha. The idea of owning 150 crankbaits alternately thrills and scares me. I already have a hard enough time carrying the stuff I do have and I make the average fisher look like a piker.

Nice "starter" kit.

I ceased counting how many I got and carry when I reached 600. :eyebrows:

Which brings to the question if you really "need" X number of cranks ? the answer is that most probably you don´t, look at me, I carry 600+ and end up fishing with the same 20-30 I always fish with.

I have a bunch too!! The fact is that I only ever tie on one of them....Bandit 200 in pearl/chart back. I should have just bought 50 of those!!

Regarding storage, Plano has those new Hydro boxes for ventilation. Is anyone using these for their cranks? The holes seemed a little on the large size and man that would be a pain if the hooks would slip through. Concept is great but I need someone who's used them to confirm. If not, then the plain old boxes and some air dry time will be the continued method.

I carry 3-6 3700 boxes of hardbaits in the boat with me every trip, then there's the the 7-9 3700 boxes of backups or spares at home and dozens of baits still in the packages in totes. You can never have to many. After all, they don't expire or go bad or anything :eyebrows:

Sounds a lot like me, I have no idea how many but it numbers in the 100's. Certain key baits I will have a few back-ups to the back-ups of some of my favorite colors. If they discontinue something I like I will buy an emergency stash. Not that I have a problem or something :occasion5:

I don't carry all the cranks that I own. Most of them are "spares" that stay at home until needed. I probably have 40 or so in my tackle box.
