hookedahawg Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 As I mentioned in a post a while back, I am completely new to soft plastics. My question is, I bought some bass pro tournament lizards to use in a local pond, when I Texas rigged them the whole body spins when I retrieve them back to me, that's both weightless and with a bullet weight. Any suggestions? Thanks guys Quote
hookedahawg Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 That's just it though, even slow rolling it continues to spin. Quote
hooah212002 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Make sure it is straight when you hook it. If it is off kilter at all, it will spin and not have natural movement. It should hang straight down when you dangle it from the line. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted September 7, 2012 Super User Posted September 7, 2012 Lizards are made to be fished on the bottom. Not slow rolled. It should take more than 1 minuet to retrieve a cast, with pauses of at least 10 seconds(count them) between moving the rod or reeling. Jeff Quote
hookedahawg Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Thanks for the advice as always guys. :-) Quote
Arv Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I'll echo hooah here and say to make sure the hook is on there straight. It actually makes a big difference and can even distort the action for worms. Quote
The Rooster Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Unless you're wacky rigging or nose hooking, then ram rod straight and centered is the only way to put a plastic on the hook. Try not to even have any sway in the plastic between the hook eye and point. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted September 7, 2012 Super User Posted September 7, 2012 Hook should be dead center. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 7, 2012 Super User Posted September 7, 2012 I was wondering if you were using spinning gear? Could be that your line is twisted. Quote
