shootermcbob Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Being a huge cowboy fan for about the last 42 years, I am looking forward to the NFL kickoff tonight. Being an even bigger realist, my team has way too many holes, and not nearly enough playmakers to compete. O-line is in shambles, no pass rush other than Ware, and neither safety is anything more than average. Predictions???? Quote
preach4bass Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Another Cowboys fan here. Another realist here, too. I'm looking forward to kickoff tonight. The final score, not so much. But, that's why they play the game! Quote
jeremyt Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Sorry, not a Cowboys fan here but I don't think it's gonna be a blowout. Quote
SuskyDude Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Giants fan here! Ready to eat wings and the preseason dreams of Cowpie fans. Giants offense is about to run roughshod on the "new revamped" Dallas D, while the D-line feasts on a Tony Romo sack-buffet. The NFL is back!!!!!!!! Lets go Big Blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 5, 2012 Super User Posted September 5, 2012 As a Pats Fan - I would really appreciate several, and I do mean Several, "Completely Unblocked" Sacks of old "Eli" So Go Cowboys - at least for tonight anyway. A-Jay Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 6, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 6, 2012 I'm a fan of neither, but Giants are going to clobber the Cowgirls. One post-season win in 16 years? That's reality. C'mon man! 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 6, 2012 Super User Posted September 6, 2012 It's Showtime! Looks like a pod of whales singing the National Anthem. 1 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 6, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 6, 2012 Waiting for some Cowboy's fan to jump on, all excited about a meager 7-3 lead, talking smack and stuff. Wait for it... Waaaaiit for it..... Quote

Waaaaiit for it..... No, Glenn. We learned our lesson last year, with their big 4th quarter comeback. We're up by 14 with 6:00 to go in the 4th, and I'm still holding my breath! Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 6, 2012 Super User Posted September 6, 2012 The G-men didn't look very dominant. The replacement Refs did OK. Dallas has got to be very happy - winning north of the Mason Dixon line and all. A-Jay Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 6, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 6, 2012 Hmmm...an upset to start the season. Interesting. Of the two teams, I like the Giants the least, so it's nice to see them humbled out of the starting gate. Besides, my opponent in fantasy football had the Giants defense. Quote
Jake P Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Us Cowboy fans, atleast the smart ones anyway, learned to shut up a while ago. I was very curious to see the "new revamped team". Mainly our new corners and Mile Austin. Everything looked exactly the way I and most Cowboys fans thought it would. O line was terrible but everyone knew that. Glad to see Ogletree step up and finally claim his spot as a receiver on this team. I had all but given up on him before this season so hopefully he can continue that throughout the rest of the season. For being the first game of the season I like what I see so far....Other than the O line that is . Go Cowboys!!! Quote
shootermcbob Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Good win for the 'Boys. 13 penalties for 86 yards certainly leaves them with much to work on. My complaint with Dallas over the last 7-8 years is they have enough good players to win 10 games or so every year, but they have been weak mentally...often times beating themselves as much as being beaten. O-line is still just AWEFUL. I heard or read one sportswriter sat that they don't need more time to gel, they just need better lineman! No piling on here, Giants, Eagles, what looks to be an improved Redskins team...should be a fun year. And let me also say that it seems EVERYONE from Jerry Jones to the talking heads VASTLY overrates the talent on this team ...year in and year out. 1 Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 7, 2012 Super User Posted September 7, 2012 What??? No commentary from BASSclary??? Must be stuck on the side of the road with his scooter. I'm still alive and kicking. Haven't been on for a while, too much schoolwork and personal stuff, however, I did watch the game from Start to finish, and i was pretty impressed. Our Defense didn't do too bad, and the Offense looked great minus the o-line, which is now basically a paper wall. My followers on twitter knew my impressions real time, as well as all my unfiltered Giants Bashing Quote
craww Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Great win. They still tried to give it away at the end. There was a sequence where they made a penalty on 4 outta 6 plays. Eli was definetely COMING in the fourth. Romo doesn't make that 3rd and 13 pass and I think g men could've won that game. Defense is gonna keep them in games this year. If Murray can stay healthy they can beat anybody. Good D + strong running game is still a good combination. O line looks terrible, but the quick tempo game helped them. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I have ogletree on my fantasy team. I benched him... :'( Quote
