Backwoodsbasser Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Behind margaritas there's the bottom of the dam some very aggressive smallmouth most are small I've caught a couple over 2 but the fight in those little guys is worth it every time. I had good luck last year with a 1/4 ounce balljig and junebug grubs casted up stream and floating it down w the current swimming it back. They usually hit along the rip rap just as you change direction parallel to the bank and start retrieve. Today however I caught a few w tx rigged 8 inch black jelly worm bounced on bottom and my biggest today on 3/8 brown football jig w matching havoc twin tail. Anyone else fish there? What do you use? My dad managed to catch 2 small smallies a little upriver from there. Quote
