Behind margaritas there's the bottom of the dam some very aggressive smallmouth most are small I've caught a couple over 2 but the fight in those little guys is worth it every time. I had good luck last year with a 1/4 ounce balljig and junebug grubs casted up stream and floating it down w the current swimming it back. They usually hit along the rip rap just as you change direction parallel to the bank and start retrieve. Today however I caught a few w tx rigged 8 inch black jelly worm bounced on bottom and my biggest today on 3/8 brown football jig w matching havoc twin tail. Anyone else fish there? What do you use?

Did you say over 2 lbs? Not to sound like I don't believe you,but did you weight it. Any pictures? I have never caught anything in there over a few ounces.

Let's see the picture with the weigh. LOL. Here is my sons 2lbs 8oz smallie just so you can see how big a 2 pounder is. Heck say you caught 5 pounders if you want. I'm just stating a point. :wink2:

I am up to the challenge. The only ones i weigh are gonna be the bigger ones, but i do take pics of many many of them.

Fished there about a week ago a man showed me a picture on his phone of a 5.5 largemouth along with a 4lbs smallie caught right underneath the bridge in the large-ish pool. My dad managed to catch 2 small smallies a little upriver from there.
