Just purchased the boat and the factory plastic/rubber hull drain plugs that are located at front of both pontoons seem to fit rather loose .. i ordered 2 new drain plugs from Academy ( like 3.99/each ) thinking the old ones were probably just worn out. I replaced them both and still even with the new ones they seem to fit loose ... i don't want to get the boat out on the water and have both pontoons fill up .. is there a better replacement drain plug that would fit tight to assure no water would get into the pontoons? ( or .. is it normal that they feel a bit loose? ) I attached a picture of the factory Pelican drain plug

Thanks for any suggestions ! Happy Boating

I've never had a problem with mine. After you push it in, are you locking down the lever? You need to do that.

I replaced mine after one broke with a standard kayak kind you get from Bass Pro or wherever. Its the kind that comes with its own base and the plastic plug screws in and out. I had to take a drill and make the hole in the pontoon a little larger, then it slid right in. Then drill holes for your screws. Make sure you use a good sealant around the screw holes (2) and around the edge of the plug insert itself. Honestly I like this style better than the kind that comes on it. Lot easier to get back in.
