What is a good replacement bearing, { excluding ceramic, I don't want the noise } in place of the stock bearings?

Orange Seals are amazing. Have them in the Citica E I bought, and they are the ****!

Aren't these ceramics, and aren't they noisey?

I sure hope not, I just ordered the Orange Seal bearings from Boca a couple of days ago.

I hope I am not violating anything here, but incredible quality SS ABEC 7's are available at biggreenfish.com. And I mean they are really good.

Boca Orange seal bearings are a ceramic hybrid technically (ceramic balls in a stainless race) Stainless steel ABEC 7 or 5 bearings are an upgrade from most OEMs but I don't usually recommend upgrading until the stockers have been properly lubed for improved performance or wear out. I am a Boca dealer and sell to forum members 10% below retail if interested.

As far as being noisy, ceramic are little louder than stainless when run dry but are faster. The difference on the water is modest in most cases and I install them mostly on an enthusiast level.

DVT supertuned two of my Curados. The noise was too much for me. I lubed them with a drop of Shimano oil.

The change in "maximum" performance is not noticeable to me. My reels are PERFECT in every way and quiet.

I got the Boca Orange Seal bearings in yesterday and replaced the stock bearings in two Calais 200 reels. The Calais is a smooth reel anyway, but now they perform like reels with NOS. I put the bearings in dry and so far I hear no nosie. I'm very pleased with these bearings and plan on upgrading more reels.

I put some of those in a Curado E7 that I have been using really hard for a couple years. I dumped it in the bottom of a river a couple months ago and after a teardown I decided it was time for new drag washers and bearings. So far I am very pleased.

OS are just OK for me. Keep in mind they are NOT what the OP asked for, since they are a ceramic "hybrid" meaning cerimic balls, steel cage and races. You get better value, same performance, and smoother feel from Smooth Drags ABEC 5 stainless.
