kodak Posted February 9, 2010 Author Posted February 9, 2010 which brands have the slowest fall? to where they could be used as jerkbaits in cold water. Quote
VABassin'14 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 which brands have the slowest fall? to where they could be used as jerkbaits in cold water. Waveworm tiki sticks are my favorite and they have a slow fall speed. Quote
Super User CWB Posted February 10, 2010 Super User Posted February 10, 2010 I agree. Tiki Sticks fall the slowest. Senkos the fastest with the most shimmy. Dingers somewhere in between. All great baits. Quote
Stringjam Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Kamakazee makes a 5.5" stick that, in my short time checking it out (one day) seems to actually have the real Senko action....if not an even wider wiggle at times. Unfortunately, it's not that much cheaper, unless you're comparing it to the 6" Senko. Also picked up their hula grub (which looks fantastic in the water) and 6" Treat, which reacts in an equally fantastic manner. Pretty impressed so far with this company. Quote

jb7725 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 as long as you get it in the water with a hook you will catch fish Quote

A-Rob Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Roadwarrior's links are awesome. I fish them texas rigged pretty much all of the time with as little weight as possible with so much success I rarely wacky rig them haha. Quote
Luke at Gouldsboro Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I only use yamamoto senkos in green or watermelon. I wacky rig them with a bullet weight, and let it hit bottom. Then I'll jig it up and down a few times and reel, jig a few more, reel and so forth. I know a lot of people use them weightless, but I throw them into big clumps of weeds, and any trees, or structure. definitely read the senko section on here. It's where I learned most about them. good luck Quote
bcody Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 The senko is one of my favorites if not my favorite. My pb of 6-13 came on one. I'm a huge fan of the "hook slot" in senkos. Only a few companies make them.(Yum and Creme) It allows the hook to lay in the slot without being buried, but still remaining weedless. My absolute favorite way to fish them is weightless. Gammy EWG 4/0 and you're ready to roll. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 12, 2010 Super User Posted February 12, 2010 Senkos don't have a hook slot. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted February 12, 2010 Super User Posted February 12, 2010 Senkos don't have a hook slot. That is the first thing I thought when I read that. I was sitting here going I don't understand...have I been missing something? Quote
TrippyJai Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Senkos don't have a hook slot. I think he was referring to this which I guess you could call it the hook slot. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 12, 2010 Super User Posted February 12, 2010 Right, GYCB Senkos have no such slot. Quote
dave Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Senkos don't have a hook slot. I think he was referring to this which I guess you could call it the hook slot. On a Yum Dinger, not a Senko. Quote
bcody Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I guess I call every stick type bait a "senko"... Whether it be a "dinger" or a "Whacky Stick". And yes, I am referring to the slot pictured above. These are the baits I prefer. Quote
