Daddyodo Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Its friday night and that means its pizza night at our house. Having Poppa Johns tonight which is not my favorite. Its ok but I would rather have Uno's or Pizza Hut. I love Canadian Bacon and Pinnaple So, who do you like the best and what type of pizza? Quote
I.rar Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Mellow mushroom, Mmm. Sucks they dont expand and open one down here. there are a couple hole in the wall places in my area that are amazing. Quote
Super User MCS Posted September 1, 2012 Super User Posted September 1, 2012 Used to love dominos thin crust w/ light sauce and ground beef! 32 oz of Mickey's n I am in a good place......right now we have a local place Brooklyn Pizza, good New York style with bacon. Pappa Johns has some unique pizzas, I like the buffalo, chicken parm, and chicken club....but the ultimate favorite is a tie between California pizza kitchens buffalo chicken and their spinach artichoke. hooah212002 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 My top 2: For take out: Mushroom and onion or, for frozen pizza: garlic chicken w/spinach with garlic sauce, not tomato. I don't like chain restaurant pizza (Pizza Hut, Dominos etc.), I like little Italian restaurants that have the pizza that has a lot of flour on the bottom of the crust. Around here that is Vesuvios and Genoa Pizza. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted September 1, 2012 Super User Posted September 1, 2012 Man, I'm boring. It's all about thin-crust pepperoni (Neopolitan/NY Style) with drippy grease and stuff. I'm hungry now.... 1 Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted September 1, 2012 Super User Posted September 1, 2012 I like 2 local joints for pizza one is called Avanti's they have the best Buffalo chicken pizza hands down with there chicken alfredo pizza in a close second if your ever in Medina or Brockport you gotta check them out. The second place I like a lot is Marks pizzeria little bit bigger chain but secluded to WNY they have a just a simple cheese and pepperoni with sweet sauce that is pretty good I can eat a large by my self usually. Super User slonezp Posted September 1, 2012 Super User Posted September 1, 2012 Move to Chicago if you want pizza. Pappa John's, Pizza Hut? Come on. Uno's Is from Chicago, but I can't imagine it's the same out in MD. 1 Quote
guitarkid Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 this local place called Delaventura's, the guy who owns it was some award winning pizza chef in new york before he moved south. as far as delivery? pappa john's bacon and pepperoni frozen? freschetta brick oven pepperoni. -gk Quote

Sucks they dont expand and open one down here. there are a couple hole in the wall places in my area that are amazing. Mellow Mushroom in downtown Delray is really good. Buddy's square deep dish in the Detroit area is my favorite, have yet to eat it's rival any where in the country. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 1, 2012 Super User Posted September 1, 2012 Sam's pizza is a local chain in Virginia, and hot dang there pizza is good, not to mention its ALWAYS buy one get one free. 2 large pizzas are around 12$ and change, can't beat that. Plus they have some of my favorite wings in the area. However, I do work for dominos, and I'm not sick of there pizza, I just eat it everyday at work, so the only thing I will actually order is stuffed cheesy bread, and only because its a dollar. Quote
Daddyodo Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Costco pizza is not bad but I am starting to get tired of it. Cant stand frozen pizza. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I love the wal mart pizzas. I know your thinking wal mart pizzas. They are not frozen there like pap john take and bake. There medium is like a large. The large is huge. They have a lot of toppings on them for the price. Quote
hooah212002 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Sam's pizza is a local chain in Virginia, I think there is a Sam's pizza everywhere. We have 2 where I grew up in IL, but the better one, the one that me, my dad and brother all delivered for and were rather close with the owners, was a tiny restaurant owned and ran by a father and daughter straight out of Sicily. They had ZERO employees except delivery drivers; those two made all the pizza and did everything even when Sam (the father) was in upwards of 80 years old. Best pizza I have ever had in my life. When I was young, I'd go in there with my dad and Josie (the daughter) would give me raw pizza dough because I love bread and dough for some strange reason. Sadly, they are closed now. The other is more of a chain type Sam's and their pizza sucked. Quote
SuskyDude Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Corporate chain pizza = garbage Although I admit to eating Pizza Hut once or twice a year. That greasy crap is great for a bad hangover. Quote

shootermcbob Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Easy one. My favorite pizza is the one I am about to eat! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 2, 2012 Global Moderator Posted September 2, 2012 Gambino's is my favorite chain pizza, Papa John's is pretty good too. Not many good pizza places around here. I love deep dish pizza but it's hard to find and places like Uno's that do make it mess it up so bad I can't even eat it. I guess that's the trade off for having great BBQ places all over. I'm not picky about my toppings and don't really have a favorite but it's hard to beat a good supreme pizza. Quote
Quillback Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 In general, it's hard to find a good pizza in Arkansas, mostly chains. But, if you ever fish Beaver and want to stop for a pizza, Gusano's, which has 2 locations locally, one in Bentonville and the other in Bella Vista, is an excellent pizza place. Papa Murphy's take and bake is an excellent pizza, better IMO than most of the chains. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Well, there are not many specialty pizza places down here in Louisiana, but I did like the new Domino's pizzas. Quote

But we do mostly Papa Murphy's as they are very convienient to where we live, excellent pies and you bake them at home. So hot out of the oven! Quote
Jake P Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 If im ordering from a chain it is Pappa Johns only.....Unless my wife is eating too. Then we go back and fourth between Pappa Johns and Pizza Hut even though I dont like Pizza Hut. There is a little place down the road named Cafe Sicilia. If you werent looking for it you would pass by it and not even realize it is there. Best Italian food I have EVER had. Everything there is OFF THE CHAIN!!! Its not a traditional thin or thick crust, sort of in between. Plenty of cheese and fresh toppings sliced up right when you order. Baked in a brick oven. Holy crap I know where im eating lunch today. I like Sausage, pepperoni and onions on my pizza most of the time. But I am not picky when it comes to food. Quote
RobertBG Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I have lived a lot of places and had some really great pizza but nothing can top Fricanno's in grand Haven MI,Every summer we'd stand in a line that ran down the block just to get a few pies, thin crust, perfect pizza if you ask me.They eventually opened a few more and the one in Muskegeon was just as good as I remembered but easier to get a table ;)Great place to grab a beer and a couple of pies after fishing. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 5, 2012 Super User Posted September 5, 2012 Years ago there use to be a place over by the airport called Village Inn Pizza. Everything was made by hand by a chef. That was the best pizza that I ever had. Unfortunately that place closed down in the late 80's I guess it was. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted September 8, 2012 Super User Posted September 8, 2012 i work for dominos too and since i always close, they let me take a pizza home every night. usually a buffalo chicken with bacon instead of onions. i like the thin crust or the brooklyn style better than the hand tossed crust. the chicken carbonara artisan pizza is good too. i like papa johns too but the closest one is too far to delivery. theres also this good place down the road called pizza empire. they have a surf and turf pizza with steak, shrimp and old bay. for frozen i like red baron or digiorno. also like those wal mart pizzas someone mentioned. Quote
Quillback Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Shrimp is good on pizza, if I have any in the fridge when I get a Papa Murphy's take and bake, I'll toss them on the pizza. Quote
