Do you guys fish it like an X-Rap? With twitches and pauses?

Yes basically the same...in a way. Always play with the retrieve though.These baits just flat out catch fish.That said though, I have had more success with the pointers using a short sweeping style and the x-raps using a wild,erratic,snappy,and fairly fast retrieve.

Aurora black,ms american,sexy chart,table rock shad,and ghost minnow will pretty much cover everything. Oops thats 5. :D

No, not at all. Rapala refers to the X-Rap

as a "slashbait". It is designed to be fished

aggressively, without pause.By contrast,

the LC Pointer is a true jerkbait, designed

to be paused and suspend.

2 = 78 Ghost Minnow

2= 100 Ghost Minnow

IF you every watch a LC Pointer underwater, when you pause it, it actually shimmys or wobbles with a side to side motion and gradually stops. Some other jerkbaits do this but not like a LC Pointer. I think that slight shimmy triggers alot of strikes. But my rule of thumb is, "colder the water, longer the pause".

I like the clown color for really bright sunshine days and I like Table Rock Shad for all the other days.

It basically walks the dog underwater. My favorite lure. Get at least one in ghost minnow. Fish it with variable twitches between pauses, and change up the lengths of your pauses (some really quick, others count to 3), and you will discover your favorite and most productive way to fish it.

Save your money. :-X ;D

I was going to say the same, but... I've never used one.

So.... can someone describe the action compared to other JBs? Is it wider? I read short rips above, compared to the darting of an X-Rap. What does the LC offer?

One of the main features is its ability to be cast long distances. A x rap does the same. If you ever have fished a rogue the weight systems are different and a rogue casts like crap especially into the wind. That is why I dont fish rogues much anymore. They are too light and do not cast like a weight integrated bait.

The other good feature is it actually gets close to suspending. Rogues for ex. you have to buy 2-3 to get one close to suspending. That puts the price about the same as 1 lc or more then 1 x rap.

Colors:  One for cloudy days and one for sunny days.

LC Pointer is the one jerkbait that (for me) suspends perfectly in the broadest range of water temperatures.

I also like the NC Shell White color for a little bit more colored waters and/or cloudy conditions.

In the clear water of St. Clair, the two colors that produce best for me are Chartreuse Shad, and Ghost Minnow. In 78, and 100 size.
