West601 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 What some good spots to fish around central Texas! Quote
Rebbasser Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Need to be a little more specific. Central Texas covers a lot of territory Quote
Big h Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Where some good spots to go bank fishing in the Houston Galveston area? Quote
BassCats Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Belton Lake is a good one. If you are willing to drive to Austin, lake Austin is very good for big bass. Belton is a clear deep lake. Austin is grass river/lake. If Austin would suggest fishing at night to avoid all the pleasure boats and craft. Quote
Big Bassman Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 How is Lake Palistine doing? I'm thinking about fishing it in mid to late November. Quote
West601 Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 The water level is low but fishing is good Quote
Big Bassman Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Thanks W601, is there a good fishing report available to keep me up to date? Quote
Skeetermatt Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Here you go: www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/fishreport.phtml I'm headed there next month for the great family fishing trip Quote
West601 Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Yeah the tpwd is good about up dating the catch on lakes. Quote
Big Bassman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks fellas. The fishing report is a nice report and current, not like some of them that don't stay current! I'm taking the family down to Tablerock for spring break in two weeks and the fish should start turning on by then if it continues to warm up. This will be our second year and most likely starting a new tradition. As stated above my Texas trip will be this December, but I like to plan early. When I was a young man I fished Lake O the Pines and really loved it. I was thinking maybe Palistine might be similar? Quote
West601 Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 There similar in some ways. What type of pole do you use? Quote
