TNBassin' Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 It's absolute garbage. I might as well have had a Slinky spooled up, and this is after 3 treatements of KVD LnL. Supposedly this was the flourocarbon that casted and felt like a mono, but it's absolute trash. I stripped this stuff off after a few days, and tried out P Line Fluoro clear and it's like night and day. Don't waste your time or money on this crap. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted August 29, 2012 Super User Posted August 29, 2012 I didnt think that stuff was going to be good. They need to stick to braid. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted August 29, 2012 Super User Posted August 29, 2012 Thanks for the review but could you fill us in with more details? Like what # test? What was trashy about it? I dont doubt you but it helps to know. Primarily a memory problem? We're left hanging, lol. Quote
mod479 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I tried it too hoping it'd be decent a cheaper fluoro....it was too much like TNbassin has said: slinkyish...it blew off my spool in a dozen coils the everytime I flipped the bail...and I used KVD L&L on it too, Tried stripping some off, still came off ths spool in coils, Tried stretching it out, it didn't help for long. Guess ya get what you pay for in this case. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted August 29, 2012 Super User Posted August 29, 2012 I have never liked Spiderwire products. I think there braid is subpar compared to Sufix and Power Pro as well. I got some Invisi-Braid and it was absolute garbage. I have never reconsidered using their lines again. Since that time they have introduced a few new lines but still, I need to see some amazing reviews to even consider them. Quote
TNBassin' Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Thanks for the review but could you fill us in with more details? Like what # test? What was trashy about it? I dont doubt you but it helps to know. Primarily a memory problem? We're left hanging, lol. I was using 12# test on my Revo. Not really sure what to say besides it came off in big coils, was incredibly stiff after some KVD treatments, and was just too unmanageable. I even tried to take some off to see if that would help things a bit but it was still horrendous. Knots were incredibly tedious to tie in comparison to the P Line I have on my reel now. Stay far away from this stuff. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted August 30, 2012 Super User Posted August 30, 2012 Thanks for the review. One thing I really like about this place is the reviews. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 30, 2012 Super User Posted August 30, 2012 I have some spiderwire xxx 17# on a 60 series spinning reel that I use offshore, it's been fine so far, pretty good stuff really. Quote
fishking247 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 i've tried many different lines and always come back to the old school trilene XL and power pro. 1 Quote
