That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. How is this even an issue? What **** for brains person complained about this? People disgust me. The little bit of faith I had left in humanity is now gone. Honestly I hope the families attorneys take very dime that school has.

I'm with you deaknh03, although this represents a level of stupidity that probably can't be slapped out. It would be worth trying though.

The thing about common sense is that it is not so common. Hard to believe that people with this lack of intelligence are employed at a level where they are charged with making these type of decisions.

That just makes me so (bleep bleep bleep) ing mad, i've taken sign language for three years, and can tell you name signs are very basic deaf culture, and to not allow him to use "h"s with his fingers crossed is absolute garbage. I hope his family takes every penny from the school, and enroll's him somewhere where people arent so freaking stupid. Oh no! Watch out! He's waving his name sign around, and it's just a letter "h" in sign language, but lets all keep our heads in our butts, not be understanding of deaf culture, call it a gun, and punish him.

JUST INSANELY STUPID.

It's out of the Twilight Zone. Rod Serling is saying "Picture in your mind an old, fat, matron, who has a strident voice, much louder than others, who has cowed a School Board."

This just strengthens my thoughts about the people in this country. I really really really dont understand how the thought of telling a child he cannot sign his own name because it looks like a gun would even enter someones mind. If i could just have 5 minutes alone with the jackwaggon who thought of this :punch-2::badlanguage:

At the bottom of the story, there is a link to a follow up story that says the school is not going to require him to change how he signs his name.

Even if the school district is now reversing course on this, the fact that it was ever in question is a perfect example of just how messed up our society, in general, really is.

Thanks for posting that. I did not see the link. I am glad that they changed course, disgusted that there was ever a course of action that needed to be changed.
