hooah212002 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 My first suggestion would be to start posting these in the proper section of the forum, lest you anger the mods who have to do it for you Quote
kylek Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Hey guys, i was just wondering what was a good spinning rod for under $100. I'm looking to use this rod for wacky rigs. Any suggestions?? I use the Berkley lightning shock in 7' M power and fish wacky worms and weightless worms all the time. For the price they are pretty nice. I picked mine up at Walmart for $40.00. Quote
hooah212002 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Where in WI are you? I work in Racine and the Walmart here has Lightning Rods on clearance. A bunch of them too. Quote
jerzeeD Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 You should be able to find a St. Croix Mojo bass for around 90 bucks. The 6'8" M/XF is specifically designed for wacky rigging. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 28, 2012 Global Moderator Posted August 28, 2012 Lots of rods will work for a wacky rig under the $100 mark. You don't need anything super sensitive or specialized to fish one. An Abu Garcia Vendetta would be a nice rod for a wacky rig, and they just happen to be on clearance at Bass Pro right now, normally 79.99 now 59.99 http://www.basspro.com/Abu-Garcia-Vendetta-Spinning-Rods/product/10203993/ Quote
Jake P Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I second everyone elses opinions and will also add any rod shimano makes from the sellus up to the compre are all quality rods. I would go for the vendetta on sale and spend the rest on tackle! Quote
gall Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 its pretty much on the cusp of your price limit but bps carbonlite they are great rods come in a lot of lengths and actions i have a 6'6 medium fast and the thing is great im planning on buying another or maybe 2 its roughly like 105 after taxes here in pa Quote
FishinChris Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Veritas is $99.99 or if you do not want to spend that much Vandetta's are on clearance. Quote
