Orthodontic band replacement for O-rings are melting on my senkos! I got a few from my sister that she uses for her bracelets, put them on my El grande lures hatch match sticks, and the next morning they were split in half and goey, any idea why?

Are you fishing in the US, right now? Its hot as hell, where I'm at. I've had my hooks melt through my worms. Keep em in the water is all I got.
