NBR Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I just fasten them to the bottom of my TM with a radiator hose clamp. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 27, 2012 Super User Posted August 27, 2012 The best installation for a trolling motor is to use a transducer that is made for that purpose. Your issue will be cable management. Quote
jack51 Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 hey guys,I'm talking about a power drive, not the standard trolling motor. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 27, 2012 Super User Posted August 27, 2012 I know exactly what your challenge is. You can't just tape or fasten the cable to the motor shaft. You don't have anything special that lots of others have to deal with using that type of motor. Do you have the version 1 or version 2 motor? Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted August 27, 2012 Super User Posted August 27, 2012 hey guys,I'm talking about a power drive, not the standard trolling motor. I have a Powerdrive V2 , 70lb thrust. I have mine mounted to the bottom of the trolling motor and I hate it. The cables are a pain in the butt. Once I buy a new electronic I'm running my front unit to the back as well to save grief. I wouldn't recommend it unless you fish open water all the time and never venture into weeds/lily pads. Quote
jack51 Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 I don't know what version I have,,it's 4years old,,40lb.thrust Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 27, 2012 Super User Posted August 27, 2012 What brand of sonar unit and what model are you planning on attaching the transducer to the motor? I'll send you a PM after you answer that. Quote
