Super User rockchalk06 Posted August 27, 2012 Super User Posted August 27, 2012 Carolina rig or drop shot? Drop shot. You don't have to move the bait forward to get action. Plus drop shot is cheaper and I think a hellova lot eaiser to rig Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 27, 2012 Global Moderator Posted August 27, 2012 Depends what I'm doing. C-rig if I'm looking for fish or if they're scattered out, dropshot if I have them pinned down or fishing vertical cover/structure. Quote
Bassego Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Drop shot. Its been working like a charm this month. Quote
MrPeanut Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 my preference is the C-rig if I can....I do have to work on the drop shot skills though Quote
Bass Angler Magazine Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 I've always caught more bass on a drop shot but better quality on a Carolina Rig Quote
NitroZ9 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I use both a very large amount of time and many times interchangeably. I catch just as good fish on one as the other. Many times when I'm fishing with my partner, he's fishing one and I'm fishing the other. Quote
NBR Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Both! Carolina rig to drag along and cover more water. Drop shot to fish vertical and hopping it down a break line! Quote
NoBoatLance Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Definetly dropshot. much easier and faster to rig. works wonders Quote
AZfishrman01 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Depends on what you're trying to do. For me, drop shot is a fish targeting presentation. It's more finesse and for tougher bites. I'm old school and still like slinging a C-rig on a 7' or more rod. I can cover a lot of water, float my lure over vegetation and cover, or bang the bottom in hopes of drawing in attention. It kinda depends on the situation and personal confidence in your abilities to fish with your chosen presentation. Quote
Clint C. Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Drop shot, but to be fair I haven't given the c-rig much of a chance. Quote
tugsandpulls Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 neither texas rigged weightless Quote
thehooligan Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Drop shot, but to be fair I haven't given the c-rig much of a chance. Same here, i prefer the dropshot though... Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 18, 2012 Super User Posted September 18, 2012 I'm not a fan of either - I'll throw them to get bit but really would prefer to do something else. Almost Anything else. Push comes to shove ~ Drop Shot A-Jay Quote
