Best Worm For A C- Rig

goin to be fishin a carloina rig in a small farm pond soon, im really kinda confused on whats the best worm to try, would u guys know what kinda worm would work in a farm pond for a c- rig,

Well, it's not a worm, but my Go-To on a C-rig is the Rage Tail Eeliminator.

Rage thumper(tail down) and a senko are my favorite when Criging.

You can try both zoom straight tail, finesse and trick worms, both work really Well

The last couple of weeks a Zoom Mag 2 in watermelon red has put some good fish in the boat. A Zoom lizard (6" or 8") or a Rage anaconda also work well. Let the fish decide...good luck!

Is it a good time of year to throw a lizard on a c-rig? I always thought of those as more of a spring time bait.

Lately I have been using a Zoom worm in plum color or a 10" powerbait worm in motor oil. Both have been productive for me.

It all depends on what you want the worm to do for you. Do you want it to ride higher off the bottom (floating worm), give off a lot of vibration (ringed, ribbon, etc.), do nothing but follow the ruckus your weight and bead are creating ahead of it (Senko style), or are you trying to imitate a crawfish or salamander?

Almost any soft plastic can be used on a C-rig and some hard baits for that matter. That's one of the great things about this sport........experimenting until you find something that either works, or works better that what you've been using.

There really is no best. I fish c-rigs a LOT. The kind of bait on the hook varies with seasons, temps, water clarity, fish moods, etc. Anything from small craws and finesse worms to 12" curly tails will work. So bring a variety and let the fish tell you what to use.

Kylek I view a lizard as just another creature bait. I think the fish do too. I have caught good fish on lizards throughout the year.

have had luck more than once in a 7" green pumpkinseed BPS curly tail worm. big worms are a lot of fun to throw on a C rig with a big ol weight

I like ring worms, but finesse style worms are also really good, like robo worm fats, zoom finesse, and reaction innovations flirt.

All good advice...I'll just add another option that I have had success with at times.....try a fluke.

And you´ll continue to be confused as long as you keep looking for "the best".

There´s no such thing as "the best", there´s big buch of options they all work, the kind of worm I fish the most for most rigging techniques is a straight tail worm, the most common size I fish is 6" ( give or take ), it works most of the times for me, I won´t say it´s the best, I only say that is my number 1 option.
