Super User iabass8 Posted August 26, 2012 Super User Posted August 26, 2012 Does anybody have any experience on the secret lures wide gap tail shaker jig? I dont believ these are available at bass pro or cabelas so i cant view in person. How is the hook? I believe its a light/med wire hook? But it says 4/0 (ideally prefer 3/0) but can deal. Im looking at the 1/8 and 3/16 . Ifanybody has any other shaky heads they know/use with an ewg 3/0 in 1/8 and 3/16 that would be great too. Im looking to get around 20-25 of each. Id prefer an offset head/football(ish) Thanks Quote
TNBassin' Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I've been using the yum pumpkin ed shaky heads. You can get them in a ton of variations and they never fail to stand straight up. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted August 26, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 26, 2012 I doo too but the smallest they come /n is 3/16 now and the hook is a bit heavy. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 26, 2012 Super User Posted August 26, 2012 Take a look at the MegaStrike Shake-2, Pro Model. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted August 26, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks but as i said id prefer an ewg hook. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 28, 2012 HMMMM I hate when this happens wow...didn't think they made ones with a hook like that. Are these available at bass pro/cabelas at all? I'd be more than willing to try these asap. do these come in 1/8 and 3/16? how thick is that hook in comparison to say the pumpkin ed? i may have just found the perfect shaky head if true. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Its my personal stash that will be available in 2013 Lightest is 3/16 otherwise it falls backwards from the backweight of the hook--COOOOOOOOOL STUFF I use them on my swimbaits- Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted August 28, 2012 Super User Posted August 28, 2012 30 years ago - or more - we were tossing "jig worms". Just a plain ole' ball head jig with a worm on the back side. Caught a lot of fish then. Still does today. No special "shakey head" design is any better. Sorry....JMO. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 28, 2012 i personally just don't like the ball head for the amount of rock i fish. it sure does work but it's just a personal preference of mine to have a football(ish) head Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 If you had seen what I see underwater you would definitly change your opinion Those were the fish you caught -Imagine the ones you could have --HMMMM Quote
mikey5string Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Take a look at the MegaStrike Shake-2, Pro Model. I was recently turned on to these and I will never use another shakey head. They NEVER fall down in the water, the wide base wont get hung up as much in rocks as a ball head and they come in bigger sizes so you dont have to sissy fish for dinks ; ) Quote
