Thats ok guy's, I'm sorry, you can BLAME ME! I already have everything covered or would be on it too. But when I saw this ridiculous price it was time to share some love!! When I was young and raising a family I would have loved to find a deal like this! I mean really, you can unload it on flea bay and make a profit if you don't like it at that price! Boy does it work sweet with the Lew's Tournament Pro, or if you prefer, the slightly heavier Curado 50E, either way you would be hard pressed to put together a sweeter finesse setup for under 3 bills!! Plus the lifetime warranty!!

I hope the ones that got em let us know what they think of them when they arrive and use them, we'll be waiting to hear about it.

On the 6'8" MXF and 7' MLXF I use the TP loaded with 20 Fireline Tracer Braid (6lbs. test mono diameter) and Fluoro. leader 10-12' 6 or 8 lbs. test, @ less than 10.5 oz they are SSSOOOOO LIGHT & SENSITIVE, not a legend elite, but 1/3 the money and very close!

im going to use mine for weightless plastics should I use my curado 50e or my tournament pro

Use whichever one feels more ergonomic in your hand, the TP is only 2/10 of an ounce lighter, not enough to really mater, either one will make one BAD **** setup! Drop shot, weightless plastic, tubes, grubs, lightweight Carolina rigs, you name it in open water!! I think going with the lighter weight Braid and 6 or 8lbs test fluorocarbon leader will be more important!! 20lbs test Tracer Braid work great with light setup's, If you use the 6 lbs and have your drag set just heavy enough to set the hook and light enough to play out your fish I have not had trouble with line digging into the spool, 8lbs test with borderline heavy drag settings can start to dig in a little, just remember to make a couple easy cast to get the spool running smooth again before you try and cast across the lake with the light lures!

Well, I guess it pays to live close to Wisconsin. Ordered the 6'9"mlxf very late Thursday night and FedEx was at my door today. Last Friday, I also ordered (per marching orders from .ghoti.) the LTB 7'mhxf - that should be here tomorrow.

Interesting that, just using the 'ole shake the rod tip test, this LTB seems to be a bit stouter than the equivalent Avid 6'9"mlxf which I already had. Could be my imagination though.

For now, I've taken the round reel off the Avid and put it on the new LTB. I have a NIB Curado 50E I can put on the Avid. After I fish them for a while, I'll decide which reel ends up on which rod...

Thanks Dwight - it IS sorta purdy - huh. This will be one of the "princess" combos that gets to live in my den/office instead of out in the garage...

Broke down and grabbed a LTB. Cause I need another 7' mh like I need another hole in my head....

FYI, They added more rods, however the prices aren't that great. I was wanting the 7'11'' Extreme that they had listed for $205 but now the price went back up. :cry4:

Sorry Dwight but I have to disagree, I've always found Blue and Gold quite nauseating, always been kinda fond of Scarlet and Gray myself! :wink7:

The rod and reel look great tough! I would keep it light and choose the 50E over the 200GTB, My GTB is my MHM crankin reel with a little polishing, abec 7's, and carbontex drag it is sssmmmmmooooootttttthhhhhhhh pullin drag or crankin and casting!

That's a Conquest 50...not a 200GTB...

WOW! thanks for pointing out the new rods in there. How aren't those prices great? they are all over 100+$ off last years model...I wonder how long their 7' M/F and MH/F xtremes will be in stock in their bargain area. I love that rod and am tempted to get another for the price of a legend tournament.

Gotta love the bargain room. Now up to (3) rods out of there since I found out about it. Thank goodness the Extremes aren't 50% off yet or I'd be buying a couple more rods tonight!

Ugh, and I already bought one rod today! Where's my credit card? Which one is the flipping stick, can anyone let me know? It looks like the 7'-11", but no lure weights on it.

Thanks,

Yep, it's the $285? 7'11'' THAT WAS PRICED AT $205 a few days ago.

I'm wanting a new spinning rod in ML, however they have M Extremes. Does anyone think that will be too heavy for dropshot / shakey?

I received the 7'mhxf LTB yesterday, took it out today. Nice rod, it works, catches fish... ;)

sorry didn't really look but the point was the calcutta is much heavier than the 50E, it is a great setup and the Lews TP is even lighter yet. I have my Calcutta like I mentioned on a MH I just prefer the lightest setup possible for light finesse work.

By the way an excellent way to break in a new rod!! Congrats!

It would do fine. I use the 69mlxf xtreme for 1-16 to 3/16 shakey heads and it performs flawlessly

Yup - a Curado 50E weighs 6.9oz - a Conquest 50 weighs 7.3oz. If you want to call .4oz "much heavier" - have at it. If I wanted it as light as possible, I'd put one of my 5oz-class reels on it...but I don't get too concerned about fractions of an ounce...

I got mine today ad I'm done after them screwing up on the shipping address and I had to drive thirty miles to get it I check the rod and the tips broke off after I had the faster shipping and it was late

When I got mine through regular shipping. It was packaged very well with plastic air bags and soft wraps throughout the whole rod.

I am sorry to hear that yours came in broke...what model did you get?
