cast_and_destroy Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Now I know there are alot of articles on this site recommending the right rod , line and reel , but I would like to know you guys personel setup. My spinnerbait rod is an Abu Garcia 7ft mh with a fast action tip , paired up with a lews speed spool with 20# vicious fluorocarbon. So what's your spinnerbait setup ? Quote
kylek Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 As of right now I use an abu garcia black max rod and reel in 6'6" M action. I like the shorter rod for them as I can place the spinnerbait right where I want it. I might step it up to a 6'9" veritas rod really soon though. Quote

greatone1210 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I am using a St. Croix Mojo MH/Mod and it seems to be working well. I may purchase a Mojo MH/F though in the future. Quote

papajoe222 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 If I'm target fishing (docks, stumps, etc.) I use a 6'6" MH paired to a 6.3:1 reel. If I'm slow rolling deep structure/cover, it's a 7'6" split grip in MH with the same reel The only other difference is the line. 15lb. Stren High Impact on the first set-up and 30lb. SpiderWiire Stealth on the second. BTW, I fish from a boat and that impacts my choice a lot. If you're a shore fisherman, chances are you're looking for distance and a longer rod makes a big difference. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted August 23, 2012 Super User Posted August 23, 2012 I have several rod/reels that I throw a spinnerbait on. For general use and burning, a LTBC70MF and Zillion 7.1:1. Close target, sniper style an AVC62MXF and Alphas. General use, and probably my favorite, AVC68MXF and Alphas. For really heavy baits or deep stroking, an AVC70MHF and TD-X. Line is generally 10-15 lb. P-Line CXX. Quote
