Saw some nice crankbaits at themangler.com for $2 a piece. Anyone ever try these? If so, are they decent quality??

I just ordered 4 of the 4inch cranks. When I get them, I may post pics and review on here. Some guy on youtube was showing them off, and he says they are par with luck craft cranks. For $2 a piece I had to give them a try.

...he says they are par with luck craft cranks.

That statement alone should have triggered a red flag. I hate to see our members being ripped off.

Good luck.

By the looks of them on youtube, they are very nice. Once I get them in my hand I may change my mind.

A big thing with more expensive lures is quality control, at $2 I dont think theres room for much of anything in the ways of QC... barely buy decent hooks at that. That being said I hope that they turn out well for you.

I'll bet the hooks are pretty weak and dull and the action won't be even close to consistant and the reason is the price. Let us know how they hold up after fishing them for awhile.

I usually change out the hooks on my cranks anyway. I'm gonna give them a chance before I start calling them garbage. I'm always willing to give these small companies a chance.

This.

But who knows, maybe one of the four will smash fish left and right! Or maybe all 4 of them. I wish you luck, and do report back.

Will do. If they work well, I will be filling my box with them for that price. Hope to have them Friday or Saturday, so look for a review with pics by mid next week.

Caught a nice 2#er tonight on one of these crank baits. No problem with the hookset, and the hooks held up well.
